If there's anything even remotely like this in there, I'd watch it:

Agree with this, this could potentially be quite epic, though I do wonder if they'd bother explaining why there are 3 Tommys, well there could be more but I saw the ZEO red ranger, the original green ranger and the red turbo, and if I remember correctly he was also a white ranger and a black ranger at some point, so he's probably there 5 times.

Wait, was he turbo red? I don't remember.
Anyway, he's at least 4 different ones.
This season probably won't have anything like that. This one is being based on the 34th sentai Goseiger, while that clip is from the movie of the 35th sentai Gokaiger. So the next season could have something like this in it. Toei is refilming the Legendary War (the above clip) for Saban specifically for Power Rangers, removing the 15 teams not adapted into Power Rangers and potentially fixing the problem of some rangers being the same people, and adding Power Rangers with no sentai couterpart like Titanium Ranger.

Anyway as for this season it could be good from what I've seen. The fact that they seemingly are using an original plot rather than copy/pasting the sentai source (see Samurai)is good in my opinion. I find the better Power Rangers are the ones that use the fight/mech footage but tell their own story. Also the actors they've announced apparently have some experience, rather than the people who've never acted before that they got for Samurai.

22 episodes are seasons seems really short. Aren't they normally like 40-50?

I really hope that they use the Gokaiger suits, powers and mechs. They are probably my favourite sentai team.

[sub]If I did this right it should start at the relevant time, otherwise skip to 12:00[/sub]

You were right the first time, he's been 5 different rangers: Power Green, Power White, Zeo Red, Turbo Red, and Dino Thunder Black.

The thing is, there were 2 Turbo Red Rangers, he passed his powers on to TJ about halfway through the series. That's probably what's confusing you.

And thus, my massive nerdiness regarding Power Rangers is revealed.
Honestly, they can just say time travel was involved to assemble the past incarnation of the Rangers including if one guy was wearing different suit like Tommy (they brought past version of Tommys) and I would buy it!

Anyway I grew out of the Rangers and while I so still watch cartoon, Power Ranger isn't one of them so I can't really form a judgement on the new show. Either way there will be kid watching it.

My first words were Power Rangers.

Yeah, I'm so cool!

Well, I can barely watched Samurai. They don't seem to show a very avried selection of episodes here, and the characters aren't even of preivous level. When I first tried watching Samurai I said "Look at that douche pose!" almsot every time they sat down. Also, STOP THE GOLD PUNS!

I used to collect the Megazords. Have quite a collection, but stopped at Operaiton Overdrive since the western releases had the build quality of McDonalds toys and didn't even have show accurate transformations. Which is weird because thew original japanese super sentai release does everything it should.

But I'm still enough of a fan that if I owned every morpher (I do own quite a few), i would make my avatar an animated gifs of the closeup hand gestures required for each morphing sequence.

Hopefully Megaforce will be decent. The call backs to earlier things always helps. My favourite episode ever was probably Forever Red. And I hope they get Johnny Yong Bosch back again to do a cameo. I love seeing him come back.

I recently spoke to my little brother about Power Rangers, I asked him to explain who is who and what is going on.
Never before did I think that a child's show could end up having more characters and being a bigger clusterfuck than the entirety of the Metal Gear Solid series.

I was wrong.

I highly doubt the Gosieger adaptation will be any good. I mean, look how they ruined Shinkenger, and that was actually a pretty good series. Gosiegers was all in all kind of meh all around, and I have no faith in the abilities of whoever's over "Megaforce"

I don't even want to know what they're doing with the Gokaiger content. I doubt they'd even be able to gather all the actors to make it as good an anniversary series as it should be. The one thing they do have going for them is that having one person play multiple characters was also done in Super Sentai (See Battle Kenya and Denjiblue. Also Space Sheriff Gavan, but that's something...different). Of course, that same actor played different characters, so how they're going to spin one guy having all of these powers is going to be something.

Eh. I dont know about this. Power Rangers has been going through a decrease in quality since they first went to Disney with Ninja storm. I've watch a couple of episodes of Samurai, and it's just awful.

The only Power Rangers I remember was Mighty Morphin Power Rangers I used to enjoy it but also thought it was stupid as hell still pretty entertaining. I lost interest shortly after lord Zed showed up and replaced the putty people with the ones that had the huge Z button on their chest which you had to hit to instantly beat them lol yeah great design there lets make the weakest enemies even weaker. I also like how it took the rangers a while to figure this out and were getting beat back.

I do remember the Power Rangers game on the SNES being awesome though I played that to death especially the two player megazord mode at the end god I loved that.

Yeah anyway stopped watching shortly after zed came in I had enough by then. It looks like the show has changed little from the tiny amount of clips I have just watched not that thats a bad thing as such but it does mean I wont be watching again, they sure like to get some mileage out of it though seems like pokemon it will never reach the huge heights it once had popularity wise but enough people still like it to easily sustain it.

Honestly, I'm surprised it's still going and it's still relevent. I tried watching the other ones and I thought they were shit, so this one will probably be shit.

I watched the older ones not too long ago, like the first three versions, and while I have no idea why I liked them when I was a kid, I was highly entertained. The Zord battles are probably the highlight of the campiness of it all, but I'll be damned if the green ranger didn't have the best one and I that still want that knife/flute thing.

Only if they keep the basic premise of the Japanese original. Because that sounded freaking awesome. BTW, does anyone know where I can acquire English-subtitled versions of Gokaiger? It sounds awesome. Message me if you know.

Two things. One, the rights went to Disney during Wild Force. And two, Saban recently required the rights and it is them who made Samurai.

You can find all the episodes and movies of Gokaiger, and a few other sentais subbed here. They are very good quality.

Weird. I remember Wild Force being pretty okay. That may be why I taught it started with Ninja Storm.

Sincerely, my favorite was Time Force. I still love MMPR tho. The second season is my second favorite.

I still enjoy Power Ranger. Whenever I stop to watch a episode I find myself laughing non stop at the stupidest things, like how explosions are always behind them with a shower of sparks and how they jump all over the place.

I know power ranger isn't a good series like, say, avatar or samurai jack, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying the hell outta it.

Actually, the quality of the Sentai that Power Rangers is adapted from doesn't really seem to have any influence on the quality of the adaptation. For example, Gingaman, the Japanese version of Power Rangers: Lost Galaxy, is considered to be a rather inferior series. But Lost Galaxy is one of the better Power Rangers series. In fact, when Lost Galaxy was dubbed into Japanese and re-aired in Japan, it was actually MUCH more popular than Gingaman.

And for those unaware, yes, Power Rangers is aired in Japan. They basically just re-dub everything (including the fight scenes, oddly enough), and air it. And, when available, they even try to get the original Japanese actors to reprise their roles for the English counterpart. Check it out:
