In my dorm all I have is a SNES and PS2 and I can't justify paying $40,000 a year to play video games but god I miss it. I find by not taking games seriously I have more fun with them, actual fun. I picked up the first mario kart and had a blast by myself playing.
I think though part of what makes gaming so much fun is the people. Yeah, 12 year olds swearing at me on TF2 or Halo drives me crazy but playing multiplayer with my best chums. Man that's a great time. I think we need to step away from realism because we don't play video games to be reminded of what real life is like.
