No, thankyou.
I found it actually ruined Avatar by completely destroying the focus of the film. I want to see it again without the 3-D nonesense.
I've experianced it once and I don't want it, that's enough for me.

YES, a thousand times YES.

Let me clarify. I use this Nvidia driver setting on my computer that lets me use the old fashioned red/blue glasses to play my games in 3D. The colors are washed out, and there are definitely disadvantages that will be worked through, but it definitely feels subtlely immersive. Especially for games in which things come much closer to you;
The ironsights in Killing Floor and the Call of Duty series
The zombies in Left 4 Dead
The characters in the Half-Life series

Even when something isn't being shoved in your face, you can tell your eyes are able to seperate them from the background much better.

That said, the expensive newer solutions are something I feel should come slowly. The "Nvidia Stereoscopic 3D" package is, from what I hear, much better than the existing things available for games and TV. Like I don't want people to be All-HD in the next 5 years or die, this can just be the next step to work towards. It doesn't have to be a must-have item. But hey, if you have money to burn, it undeniably improves the experience.

I tried the Nvidia glasses at PAX and they were ok, but I was definitely not impressed. I don't get what's so "immersive" about 3d. I've always regarded it as a cheap parlour trick used to entertain little kids, not as any form of serious media enhancement. Besides, I don't want to wear those damn glasses the whole time.
