The lowest I ever go is to my briefs. Usually I just fall asleep in what I've been wearing all day, which is always a T-shirt and shorts. Socks depend on temperature and how much they've squeezed my ankles. Oh, and I always have to have a blanket, even if it's just a loose sheet.

Well, since my bedroom is made of aluminium for the walls and ceiling, I can only do that in the "summer" or anytime it's hot enough (which is a good portion of the year in so cal) otherwise I freeze and I don't like being cold (which sucks for this time of year because it's cold...for so cal at least at night).

When it's like it is now, it's pj pants and a tshirt.

Though I really don't like sleeping in shirts since they tend to strangle me because of how much I toss and turn

I can't stand wearing anything when I sleep, not even in winter. I just have to make sure to have some nice and thick covers(or another person) for heat.

Boxer briefs. I can't imagine trying to sleep this summer with shirt on with the heat, and it stuck before that.

I usually wear boxers unless it gets incredibly hot in my room (like this last summer), in which case I will go full nude in bed. I do keep PJ pants and a T-shirt nearby so I can leave my room if I have to.

I don't like wearing clothes when I'm awake; much less when I'm sleeping. If I could get a job that let me work from home, I'd probably be nude 6 days out of 7.

I take my vest off if I end up waking up covered in sweat so that is properly the closest thing to me being nude (I still keep my short on). Granted I do find it weird having the feeling of my skin touching the bedsheet but you get used to it once you're asleep.

No shirt, boxers only, final destination.

I can't just let my jewels dangle around. They must be contained, lest the house come crashing down in the middle of the night. But now since it's winter: SWEATER, LONG SHIRT, SWEAT PANTS, TWO THICK BLANKETS AND BODY ARMOR. Southern California is absolutely rude when it's hot, and ESPECIALLY rude when it's freezing.
My girlfriend can handle being nude in any season though. God bless her bravery.

I wouldn't.
I like being clothed and covered when I sleep, even in summer (That means summer pajamas + at least a sheet).

Though when it's too hot and the fan isn't enough, I could go shirtless and sheets only covering my feet (I want my feet covered for some reason).

I'm weird like that.
FWIW, I'm a guy.

I used to always wear pyjama pants and a t-shirt but since about a year ago I've just worn a t-shirt to bed. I never liked the idea at first but it's kinda comfy actually.

I have, and I still do sometimes. Always after sauna and during summertime, because obvious reasons.

I feel a tad self conscious, so I always sleep in my pyjamas. I think it also helps that my room is nearly always cold, so sleeping naked would be quite uncomfortable.

I regularly sleep in as little as possible, which is usually boxers or more often, cotton jogging shorts with maybe an 6" inseam. Mainly for the aforementioned "I don't really want to roll around in sheets that the cat pushed half way up my ass while it was cuddling me" (I sleep on my stomach and the cat likes wandering around and sleeping on my back and ass). For me, it's a temperature regulation thing as I tend to run hot and hate waking up with a sweaty shirt on, but if I kick back blankets in the night, my blankets/pillow are never sweaty.

My wife tends to sleep in a shirt, unless post-coital, in which case she usually sleeps topless. I have no idea why she does this, but am now inspired to ask her. :p She is extremely well endowed (f cup) and that may or may not be a factor in her choosing to sleep in a shirt. My last long term girlfriend was a b cup and slept topless more often than not. But again, I don't know if size was a factor there, or just personal choice. My six year old daughter loves sleeping topless in the summer. She asked why I sleep shirtless a few months ago and wanted to try it; we just told her she needs to have a shirt on by the time she leaves her bedroom and kinda forgot about it. I don't actually know if she's still doing it now that it's colder because she's buried under blankets at night.

Middle of the night sex is generally the only reason my wife and I ever both sleep totally nude, and that's as much laziness as anything. And even that has dropped off some as our kids are getting old enough to wonder why we are completely naked in bed.

Personally, I also think sheet quality is a big part of the deal. If you have good, comfortable sheets, it may be more comfortable. Long story short, sleep however makes you most comfortable.

I have tried sleeping naked a few times and just didn't get much rest. I always woke up sweaty and uncomfortable as there was nothing keeping me from touching skin to skin (like laying on my arm, for instance), so a bunch of sweat would form there. I always woke up feeling I needed a shower, when I normally shower right before bed.

I suppose it might work better in the summer when I could sleep with nothing but a sheet (if that) and have a fan blowing on me, but at this point I see no benefit in trying. So I pretty much always sleep in shorts and a t-shirt in the summer, and swap the shorts for sweat pants in the winter.

Pyjamas are the the only thing that separates us from the animals!

Seriously though. I have slept... unclothed maybe once or twice, and did not care for it. I just feel better, less exposed maybe, with them on. Most of my mates ridicule me for this though, partially because I don't sleep au naturel and partially because the pyjamas that I do wear consist of a collared button down shirt and long trousers, all chequered. "Old man jamas", according to them. Bastards.

Also I don't sweat easily and prefer to remove the duvet (or covers, or quilt, or whatever you want to call it) rather than the PJs if I do get too hot.

The final reason is that if an emergency drives me out of the house, I will be clothed when I go out.

Whenever the weather allows or demands it. It's usually easier to fall asleep and leaves me less likely to sweat excessively. And I don't worry about what my butt touches... although I shower pretty much every morning.

When it's colder, I usually start by putting on a t-shirt or a sleeveless undershirt, and add underwear as necessary.

Nude here too. Clothes are uncomfortable, especially since I like to curl in my sheets.

And as with the butt issue, the original line I found was "Because I'm not 6 anymore". I could come up with something less dry but I'm not sure I could be less condescending.

I've been thinking about this lately. I'm a female, and out of habit (and warmth) I wear both pants and a shirt to bed. But once a few weeks ago, I slept so restlessly I managed to wriggle out of my shirt, so I slept completely shirtless. And I'll tell you...it was nice. Something about the soft flannel directly on my skin was just cozy and novel.

So that got me wondering...how would it feel to sleep completely in the nude? The one thing that prevents me from doing it is hygiene--my bare nether regions making contact with the sheets directly. I know where they've been, and if I did that once I know I would not want to return to those sheets until they're washed again. And that's even if I take a shower before bed.

Have any of you ever slept in the nude, or do you on a regular basis? What's it like? How do you deal with the "icky" factor of your bare ass and other parts being in direct contact with the sheets?
I usually sleep only with my underwear on w/o a cover. I've slept completely nude before, but I turn a lot. So, i'd rather have a barrier between my junk and the sheets.
