Sorry, let me be more clear, I mean between River and Oswin. River being absolutely in love with The Doctor, The Doctor chasing Oswin. I could see a bit of jealous tension between the two of them. I think that would really help build River Song's character to a new level.
Did he get a new screwdriver? Cause if he did than this is post-River timeline.
No, the screwdriver is the same, just has a new function, or at least an added function. Based on the way they made it sound in the Stone and Flesh episode, Matt Smith wasn't The Doctor that gave River the screwdriver, as his face is still "young". At least that's my interpretation. I don't see them stopping River without that episode getting made either.

Still, it turns out it's the same character that was in the first episode 'Asylum of the Daleks' so I'm interested in how this works and whether Oswin is really human or not.
From the episode I got that she wasn't the same character, but something closer to a reincarnation cycle/cosmic echo. There's part of me which would love for her to be a Kenny (Doctor meets a new incarnation each ep and she always dies), but that's the cruel, sadistic side of me. Maybe its just as his friend said and the universe does make deals. As a plot point/series arc, its definitely got me interested and really looking forward to seeing how it all plays out
Yeah she can't be completely aware of her previous (or rather future) incarnation as a Dalek, if she remembered him from this episode then she'd have recognised him in episode one. I too am interested to see where this goes. She seems to be Rory but she actually dies instead of almost dying all the time.
For her's is a Lazarus soul... Aaaaand that's enough of The Red Violin. This reincarnation thing could be interesting though.

Aynho, my new favourite character pairing is Strax and the Memory Worm, although, did anyone see what happened to it? The worm that is, not Strax...

It was better than the last few.
But that's still not saying much. I liked the new tardis, but hell, More people kissing the Dr, more flirting, more shitty gay jokes (Big whoop Moffet, just because one of the characters in your show mentions they're gay, does not make the show progressive. Stop fucking doing it, I counted it 4 times in the last series. And there were only five fucking episodes.).

Have to admit the Oswin thing was fairly interesting though... I hope this is a beginning of an upwards sprial for the show, because lately it's been wallowing in it's history a little. Hopefully Moffet can bring the show up to the standard Davis brought it in at, for the 50th anniversery, but I shan't get my hopes up so I can be pleasently surprised. Or not.

I think the whole Oswin thing is going to make for a really good season. I'm super interested to find out more about her, especially after wondering how in the WORLD they were going to bring her back, heh.

I agree with you, though, about the human emotions thing. That nearly ruins episodes for the cheesiness. The Lodger comes to mind; it would probably be my favorite episode if it wasn't for the whole "daddy's love gives me power!" thing.

Oh, and PS: Moffat needs to stop doing that "Doctor Who??!!" thing. Jesus Fucking Christ, is there a single person on Earth besides Moffat himself that actually likes this joke?
50 year old joke repeated throughout the entire Doctor Who history, especially considering the reveal of the question at the end of series 6, it's not going anywhere.

Moffat didn't start it, Moffat won't finish it either.
Aha, BUT. BUT. At some point in (I believe) David Tennant's run, they made fun of the joke by having Jackie say "Doctor what?", and even THEN the line didn't receive all the special fanfare Moffat's been giving "Doctor who?". They just glazed over it. That was subtle and perfect. The joke had evolved. In fact, I kind of picked up on the fact that the title of the show had been a running joke in the past, and I thought it ended right there, seeing as they avoided saying it until recently. Now Moffat's just set it back a few steps.

Even running jokes need to evolve over time to stay funny. Right now, the "Doctor WHO??!!" thing is Exhibit A.

Why do people keep complaining about this?

I can't help but wonder whether people are a lot more homophobic than they would like to admit. After all, would it bother you if you weren't the least bit homophobic?

Incidentally, what are the '4 times in the last series' you mention? Can't think of any examples off the top of my head (But again, I don't think it's anything worth noticing.)

THere are only two incidents I can remember. One is Doctor admitting his love to Craig. Here was teh other.

I almost fell over when I heard that line. I'm just glad there were no Daleks involved this time. I really hate them at this stage, I don't see the point of bringing them back every single season. Anyway, yes I enjoyed the episode.

Better than the RTD days when they appeared with "THE GRAND ANCIENT MYSTICAL PROPHECY!!" being plastered all over the place.

I don't have a problem with gays, or hell, even the jokes THAT much, it's just that they're overdone. In this at least.
Uhh, there was the Town called mercy, and the gay horse, there was Oswin shrugging off "Experimenting" in Uni, there was Rory being kissed by the Doctor, and him freaking out a bit, and the last one escapes me for now, May have been something about River.

Anyway, it just annoys me. It's Doctor Who, it was never really about sexuality or sex before, I mean, Russle T Davis had Gay characters, but more often than not they never mentioned it, it was just kinda hinted at. Moffet consitantly uses it as a punchline, and it's getting on my tits.

But then again, Cap'n Jack never annoyed me, and he does it basically constantly, so prehaps it's just the writing, or the fact that lots of characters seem to do it.

I'm not going to get in on this too long but Captain Jack isn't 'gay'. According to Toshiko he'll 'Sleep with anything good-looking enough', so he'll sleep with ANYONE, (even aliens. He is from the 51st Century though). I think the canon reason now why he only dates guys is because he's immortal. He doesn't want to end up having kids and becoming his own grandfather, or worse, outliving them (see: Children of Earth. He doesn't age, he ends up being ~the same age as his daughter)

Title Sequence - I like how they did the graphics but could they have chosen a more boring episode name?
It was an in-joke/hint for us oldsters...

The episode title is referencing the story "The Abominable Snowmen" which starred Pat Troughton as the Doctor.
It was the first episode featuring the entity known as "The Great Intelligence", which then later reappeared
in the story "The Web of Fear" in which it tried to take over London in 1967 through the tunnels of the London
underground.

So what did you think of the episode?

Love love love the new TARDIS interior and the new titles! Always good to see friendly Sontarans and the Doctor's 'crew'.
Although they still pulled the 'human emotions saved the day' idea which I'm not a great fan of.
Still, it turns out it's the same character that was in the first episode 'Asylum of the Daleks' so I'm interested in how this works and whether Oswin is really human or not.
Small thought, but I don't remember at any point they showing the family crying and power of loving the hell out the snowmen, the one crying was Clara and there's like you said we don't know what she is, so maybe was her and not the power of love... Thought I have a felling that they will never comeback to it... So yeah, in doubt was the power of love.

And can anyone explain what was that about tunnels. Was a gag, a important episode thing that I missed or something that will have importance later on maybe?
It's an in-joke/reference to the past actually.

This episodes villain (the Great Intelligence) was also the villain from episodes from the 1960's, including one titled
"The Web of Fear" in which it tries to take over London through the tunnels of the London underground.

I don't see why everyone gets mad at this. If a person introduced themselves to you as The Doctor. You would say either Doctor Who, or Doctor of What. While it's a running joke, it's still a very normal response as a human.

The Horse wasn't gay, it was more of a crossdresser or Transgender as far as horses can go I'd guess. Rory being kissed by The Doctor and him freaking out is a very valid response in Rory's case. This episode it's playing off the time period. It's cool if you don't like the jokes, or the references to LGBT culture existing within Doctor Who, I just figured I'd give my two cents on it.

I really enjoyed it :) but i guess i'm easily pleased! although as soon as she mentioned Soufley? spelling i twigged who she was but not why she was.

Also the tip of the hat to David Ike with implying all royals are 'lizards' was subtlety delicious!

But yeah awesome episode but i (blasphemy it seems) really did like Amy and Rory as characters seems generally people really didn't like them, personally i thoroughly enjoyed Amy's story :)

I did like Amy's story and seems to me that no one else really got into it too much. Also, it was a christmas special, so it'll be about family and so on.

The Soufley part really messed my mind up because I remembered the Soufley's from episode 1, I wonder how they will deal with the whole paradox thing?

My favorite Christmas special so far. Loved everything about it, especially Clara. She is looking to be a promising companion indeed. The New TARDIS Interior is well designed and very reminiscent of Classic Who. The New Intro was nice to. Honestly, this is shaping up to be a good season, with the departure of the most annoying companion ever (and her Husband) and the new revitalization of Smith's Character. I can not wait 'till April next year for more Episodes (Mostly because I wanna know Clara more, she is a really interesting character, and the actress does a GOD DAMN amazing job at playing her character).

I'd hesitate to say Blasphemy, but I didn't like Amy because of her personaility. The Actress is good, but Amy could have been written better, and this season did well for that, but not enough. We all have our favorite Companions and what not, I just didn't like Amy that much. (For the record, Donna is my favorite Companion)

Okay, good epsiode!! Was very well done.

Couple of questions: Why did they change the tardis? Doesn't it only change after a crash or a new doctor is regenerated, same with the credits shouldn't have changed!?
The Doctor can change it at a whim. I think it happened before, during one of the Earlier Doctors. I think it happened during the fifth Doctor. I do know that during the earlier ones, the interior was RARELY changed (Mainly due to the Budget the show had, but a story reason could be that he liked it). There are many themes the TARDIS can have, and it's really not explained to be quite honest. But, I'm pretty sure my answer is a good enough one.
