This episode was actually really good, seems like the most emotional, scary and thought provoking episode of Stephen Moffats series. I liked the way they gave a new spin on the greek tale of the maze and the Minotaur, and the end really blew me away. So, what do you guys think about it?

I liked it too, though it was a bit of an anti-climax with what he did for Amy and Rory 2 episodes before the finale, then again, at least he's learning from his mistakes, I mean when your past ones recently have had some traumatic shit thrown at them.(memory wipe, entire family abused and being trapped in another UNIVERSE to name a few)

I loved it, caught it 5 minutes in, but picked it up pretty easily.

The faith twist was really well played, if not a slightly generic Doctor mistake, and the bit with Amy and the Minotaur was brilliant.

Looking forward to next week's Cyberman episode! ;-)

I feel that if someones going to criticize that the ending was ant climatic, then they are wrong because that was the whole point of the ending. It wasnt supposed to be a Rose, where they had 20 minutes of sad music and crying, its meant to be the doctor learning that most of his friendships end in misery for everyone, so he got Rory a cool car and a house and just say goodbye.

I am looking forward to reading the letters page in the Radio Times for the one person that interprets the episode as an attack on religion.

Anyway.
Good episode, lots of funny lines, monster could have been more convincing I felt. Ending is OMGWTFBBQ and I hope James Corden is not as irritating as I expect next week.

As a classicist, loved one particular little nod to the original minotaur myth.. Cookie to anyone else that noticed it.

I feel like at least half of the episode was missing.

Enormous amounts of story progression missed out, badly inserted jumps forward in the plot, characters who we got absolutely no feel for before they were knocked off but supposed to feel something (pity? empathy?) towards, all in all it felt like there was an hour or more of show forced into a 40 minute time slot by an editor who had the film reel, a pair of scissors and a blindfold.

Sorry, but not impressed at all.

A lot stronger then some of the previous ones, kinda felt like a throwback to the slightly glossy RTD episodes (but you know, actually good).

But as always an hour and half worth of story chopped up and mutilated into 45 minutes, like 5 pounds of shit stuffed into a 3 pound bag.

Can someone at the BBC please say "lets return to the serial format, it worked so well!".

And willing to bet that the Doctor saw himself in Room 11.

EDIT= But gotta say if I have one genuine complaint is that the whole thing felt kinda contrite.

Found it to be a lot better than recent ones, although I hated not being able to see what the Doctor was afraid of.

Was it Davros? Master? Himself?! I NEED TO KNOW

I think it was himself. I really liked this episode anyway. The whole minotaur thing was awesome. Also "We are planting trees along the highways so invading forces can march in the shade" was the funniest thing all day. Can't wait for the next episode to, looks really good and has Cybermen. My favorite Who villains.

Thats kinda a repeated issue with this show, it works best when its given time, most writers do big stories that cant be contained within the time limit but when they do do stories that fit its easily the best on TV.

That cowardly alien had some brilliant lines. "Our national anthem is "Glory to *insert name here*" and "My old school motto, "Resistance is exhausting" in particular made me laugh.

All in all, I think that was the best episode since the series restarted last month but I do think it could have been a 2 part episode as the story did seem a little rushed. The thing with Amy and Rory was sad, but you can guarantee they will be back for the series finale.

The fact that I didn't has depressed me since i always though of myself as a greek myth guru. Unless I just missed the line.

OT: I really liked it. Hotels have always creeped me out and I like the whole idea of a room for everyone.
Side note: Though we probably wont find out what was in room 11 I'm guessing it was himself. Side side note: Fuck yes. Cybermen

Guys, don't worry. It was the Doctor himself in that room. We already know from the last season(dream lord) that there is no one who hates and fears him the his own self.

I loved the whose-God-complex-was-it-? twist. It seems to be quite the running theme, no? And also, does anyone else feels that constant timeless suicide-killer vibe coming from 11?

(BTW whose was that clown??? You know when Amy and nurse hid in the room from Taurus?)

Still waiting for Doctor/Song romance scene.

EDIT: I'm sorry, but how could you NOT notice the greek myth reference? A Taurus? In never ending halls, you know, like a labyrinth?

I liked it. The whole fear and faith thing was nicely done and the minotaur in the labyrinth was pretty cool. I wish they'd shown what was in the Doctor's room though. Also wasn't the ending I was expecting as it happened. I thought he was gonna put on his Stetson but no. Not quite yet.

Next week looks OK but how complicated can it get with Cybermen involved? If they make Craig(James Cordan) the new assistant though, I will not be happy. He was cool the first time but I am not a fan of him.
