You know... as much as I hate the Nintendo Wii... if this game actually turns out to be good, I might consider getting the damn system.

Dr. Who isn't known for his Kung Fu Skills? He kicked the crap out of people all the time when he was an old man.

...[/youtube]

Needs to resemble this for win.

I'm honestly not sure as to how I feel about this. Sure, I like Doctor Who, but there's always the problem that licensed games seem to run into.

Did anyone actually buy the "card game" game? Was it any good? When I saw it in the shop, I was like "OMFWTFBBQDOCTORWHOVIDEOGAMEIMSOTOTALLYGETTING oh wait, it's just a card game. Blech. I wonder what Mario is up to these days..." and that was that. I'm intrigued by a proper Doctor Who videogame, but (at this point in time) very skeptical as well. I haven't seen the new Doctor in action, but from what I've heard, he's a little bit rubbish.

Everyone who is a Who fan has flocked to this thread. I am so geeked out!
Yeah, it's pretty cool. I have a Wii so I will keep watch on this, I just hope it covers all the Doctors as well as the new ones, I'd love to play as the 5th Doctor.

So it needs to look like an anime? I have so many issues with that video that I'm unable to list them, suffice to say, Doctor Who is a British show and if they do anything to change that it'd be as successful as what FOX tried back with the 8th Doctor.

If this turns out good I'll eat my own face.
Can you post a video if you end up doing that??

OT if this turns out to be a good game (it wont be) ill rip off my own arm and beat my self to death with it constantly shouting time and relative dimension in space.
If you post a video of THAT then yes, I will.

Why choose Wii/DS of all platforms?

Everytime I hear "Wii/DS" the game is instantly turned into a lesson in mediocrity.
I know, this is kinda unfair, but I completely agree.
Completely.
Licensed games on the Wii are so painfully forgettable.

Well, I think it definitely belongs on the Wii/DS. Considering the core demographic of Xbox/PS3 users are fools who think that if somebody doesn't blow shit up every 3 seconds they're not a proper hero. Sadly I know these people exist because they're my friends. They're also the same people who said Wikus in District 9 "had no balls" and "therefore [District 9] sucked". I had to slap them repeatedly. They also said Doctor Who is gay.

That's the opinion of everyone I know with an Xbox or a PS3, however me and my Wii/DS owning buddies LOVE Doctor Who.

If I don't get my hopes up I won't be disappointed.

I have been watching Doctor Who since I was 4 (I love PBS) and would love a good game based on the series... only time will tell if this is a good game.

Not all 360 or PS3 gamers desire crap to blow up every 3 seconds. Hell, I can play games without explosions, I did do a ton of walking on Oblivion. Admittedly many games of the 360/PS3 have explosions, (including most of mine,) but I don't think Wii is any better of a console for Doctor's adventures than those two.

Seriously, beyond using the Wii-Mote for the Doctor's Sonic Screwdriver I distinctly imagine that the Wii controls would drive me insane. Truthfully, and this is one of the few times I will say this about anything beyond RTS games, I think a Doctor Who game would be best on the PC. That way you can use the mouse for the Sonic Screwdriver and still manipulate the game.

However since my fiance wants a Wii, I'll probably be playing Doctor Who on the Wii eventually.

It would only work as a point'n'click in my opinion. Thus, this is fact. Doctor Who will only work as a point'n'click.

I knew I kept my Wii for something important! I would have preferred a PS3 Doctor Who game but beggars can't be choosers.

Is this a bad time to point out that the Doctor can't travel "through" the TARDIS to get somewhere, he must travel "in" the TARDIS to get somewhere...

Sorry to correct the title of this thread but it's true :)
Although it means time and relative dimensions in space correct?

Therefore he would move through time and relative dimensions in space to reach the wii surely, just by walking along you technically do that.
Technically yes, but the acronym TARDIS and the content of the topic suggests the actual TARDIS machine is begin referred to, thus you can't walk "through" a TARDIS.
Really super technical? You can travel from the controls to the door. Through the TARDIS. That would get you to the destination.

The very definition of the word "through" means you have to enter something then exit it at different points. If you walk into your house, then back out the same door again, you aren't going "through" it. If you go in one door, and out a different door in your house then you went "through" the house to the other side.

The TARDIS itself travels "through" the vortex by entering it from one point, and exiting at another. From one point to another within the void is travelling along it, not through it.

If the thread title said:

"Doctor Who Travels Through the Vortex to Wii"

..then that works.

Sounds interesting, I'll have to look into this...

And Doctor-wise, I like the 9th, 10, and 11th Doctors more or less the same(being more familiar with the newer series and all...)
