I might be being abit paranoid here, but hear me out.
I'm unemployed at the moment, looking for something to last me till next september (to cut a long story short, I can finally apply to uni this year to go next year). I applied for a job today, for a Customer Assistant / Marketing Trainee. I expected the pay to be crap and such, but I literally only need it for a year.
I got an e-mail back within two hours of sending the application. This rang alarm bells straight away - I've never got a response for a job application THAT quickly (its normally a few days before they even get read - read recipting ftw). And heres the crux of the issue...
It looks like a timeshare-type letter, trying to shove me into an interview ASAP and feeling (cynical bastard that I am here) too positive, talking about how they want me to be the ideal candidate but how I need to act quickly. The phone number that they want me to ring is a mobile number (more alarm bells) and having checked their website (which also feels wrong) I've also noticed that certain press releases on it don't actual match up to the press statement on the external source. Even my dad, whos normally stupidly optimistic about this stuff, felt it was odd at best.
EDIT: I should also have mentioned that the e-mail makes multiple references to "Sales opportunities" that were not in the vacancy post, which I've been avoiding like the plague because I suck at sales.
Should I just ignore it? Should I report it, or am I being paranoid and should go for it?
(Note: I'm not going to link to anything here that would specify the companies name, incase I am just being a paranoid moron. And sorry for the wall o' text)
