Does Angels and Demons Movie kill the book?

I was amused that they decided to mix things up and make the end less depressing by keeping one of the four "to-be-deadeds" alive.

However, the look on Langdon's face when the cardinal at the end keeps telling him that God brought him to them was priceless. I've never seen such a look of utmost revulsion in my entire life. I suppose Tom Hanks was thinking "I could be doing Toy Story 3".

Movies always kill the book.

Tis a fact of life.
Have you seen "No Country for Old Men" or "The Godfather"
I agree that books can achieve things films can't (and vice versa-though I generally prefer books). But don't shut yourself off to a good number of the greatest films of all time.

And, on topic, I disliked the book and thought the movie sucked. So, not really- All the movie did was remind me of how ridiculous the helicopter scene was.

I think Dan Brown kills literature.
Obvious trolling is obvious.

I really want to see this movie, since I heard it's actually good.. But as an answer to your question, from what I've HEARD, it does "kill the book".
If you read the book, for the love of any and all gods, don't see it.

I'm curious to see who you would have cast as Langdon.
I can't think of any good ones at the moment.

It does not kill the book, since it can't unless you let it. If anything, feel smug over people who only saw the movie for having the advantages reading the book gives.

I'd cast me as Langdon. Not because I'm a whole 5'7" with brown hair, no, because I want to be in movies.

A thin tired Johnny Depp or David Lee Smith or Liam Neeson

Need some one thin, Sounds smart, I mean in the book they describe him fairly well so you could go off that and find some one better than ton hanks easily

I can definitely see Liam Neeson as Langdon, but his accent might smudge my impression of him.
Otherwise, he'd be a great choice.

I've never heard of David Lee Smith until I wiki'd his name and found "The Man from Earth"; he sounds like a fairly reasonable option.
