Looking at my list of games I currently have on my computer here (mostly downloaded off of Steam), there are 17 out of 40 that I haven't played at all, and most of the others were only played briefly.

I can be kind of a compulsive buyer when it comes to Steam deals, and I do kind of like seeing my little "library" of titles. But on the other hand, it kind of seems like a waste. I dunno - I'm sure I'll try those other games eventually. It might even be kind of good to have a little stockpile like that for a rainy day, so to speak.

Would you consider this a bad habit? Does anyone do anything similar?

Oh I do that. I don't see it as a problem. As you say, I'll get round to them eventually. Just until then, there are other games I want to play/complete before I get around to installing the others.

Don't do that. Mostly, anyways. Every game I buy, I play.

Though I do need to make my way through the X Superbox. That's going to take me some time.

But apart from that, yeah, I play what I buy, and I don't buy much from Steam. Most games on my library I installed through the physical copy.

Unfortunately yes. I bought the humble bumble indie pack and got this years and last years. So far I've only touched like 3 of the games that I got with it...

Eeesh... I sorta know the feeling, though these days, I don't buy that many games (maybe one or two a month) so I've managed to clear my backlog and complete everything I've bought. Just one game remains unplayed as yet... Mass Effect 2... *hangs head in shame*

Uhg! That would drive me crazy! I have to play every game I own, to completion no less, even ones I really don't enjoy.

I've got a steam list like that. Most games that I don't buy through steam I play and at least get something from the experience before moving on. Problem with the steam games, well not really a problem but still, I got most that I haven't played in indie genre bundles. So I have a bunch of little puzzle and adventure games and haven't had that itch to play them yet.

I still have a game or two lingering around that I've bought but never actually touched.

Well, in small amounts it is harmless but wasteful.

Then again, I know a guy that has bought over 300 steam games and has only played around 70 I think? So don't slide down that slippery slope. He even begged me to buy a game for him when steam refused to accept his credit card. He wanted it just because it was on sale.

The only game that I haven't really touched is Borderlands and that's becuase a friend (who had already played it) played on it with me and rushed about loads and It kind of ruined it. I probably give it another try soon.

Ever heard of shopping addiction? You people need to look into it before it gets too far.
Shinny new things are quite the lure, and it's up to you to control yourself.

Dats me alright ^^* And it wasn't because it was on sale. It was because it dropped below the buy point. Some games are worth buying but not for full price :p

I have that problem from time to time. If i see a game in a steam sale, from say £20 to £5 for 24 hours, i'll buy it and chances are i won't touch it for weeks until i'm done with whatever it is i'm currently occupied with at the moment. I'm also like that with hard copy games. For example, if i'm getting an xbox title, and there's another title being offered for really cheap, i may pick that up as well and it'll be sitting in cellophane plastic until the following month when i finally decide to pick it up and play it. I think that in a way, it's somewhat healthy, because it means i can focus on enjoying what i have while still having something fresh to experience after. It also means i get things in good deals when i can and then play the game when i feel like it instead of whining about not having enough for the full price when i do and spending money i don't have because it's five times as expensive.

I've done it. I have gotten wise to it though and I've decided not to jump on any more Steam deals. Just buy games when I feel like playing them.

I play every game I buy, when I buy them, unless something prevents me, such as installation raising its middle finger at me. I still have several untouched games on my steam ccount though, damn you Valve and your absurdly good valued Valve pack! *shakes fist*

I used to do that with my PS3.

That's pretty much what lead to me having games like Viking and FF13 lying around.

Oh yeah I do that not just with steam either, I have this problem where I just don't play games for a while even though I kind of want to. Like right now I actually want to be playing Witcher 2 and have for like a week but just haven't got around to it. Even though I have the time I just can't bring myself to actually do it and find stupid stuff to busy myself with. It's the main reason I don't finish games, by the time I get onto a hot streak of actually playing games their bloody Sequels are out.

I do that to, but many thinks that i just waste my money but i'd like see it as that i dont have enough time to play all my games but only the ones that i feel like at those moments that i do have time.
A gamers worst enemy... time! Or like i say: to many games, to little time!
