I've never sent a friends request in my life, nor have I ever PM'd someone who didn't PM me first.

Not because I don't like people, I love all of you... well most of you. But it simply never really crosses my mind or I think "why should I bother them".

So whenever I read someone saying,"I've made some of my best friends here", it always makes me wonder what the hell I'm doing wrong.

I stopped sending friend requests ages ago. If I'm their friend I'll just talk to them. xD Whether it's in a thread, or on Skype/Twitter.

I don't mind receiving requests, but most of the time I'll forget to add them back. >.>

I have no problem with friend request most of the time. Half of my friend in my list are from a group I'm in so I do know who they are and do converse with them (the other half are people who I've recongise in some thread or seen them in a thread I had post in or part of an rp I was in).
I do however find it weird if I got a friend request from someone who I don't recongnise and his/ her profile tell little information about him/ herself so another word a friend request from a stranger. Yes I could just PM to get to know that person but as usual I'm shy.

Ha, capcha said "be my friend", no way I'm making friend with the capcha system!

I have no problem sending requests or messages to people on here, I don't do it often though. Also, I find it strange when people send me a friend request but then don't message me at all.

I dunno if they're just after the friending badge or whatever.
Sometimes I get messages I'm too busy to reply to or forget about and then I feel bad when I remember it a few weeks later.

If I've done that with you, I'm soooorrrry.

I usually only send them if we've had an exchange in the thread.

Or if they're from Yorkshire too because we're the best and should be in a team.
It has to be said the yorkshire accent has a charm to it, me ma is thick somerset accent luckily i have a soft accent unless im drunk or angry with someone then i start sounding like the people from Hot fuzz which oddly enough a large amount was filmed in wells a town 2 minute drive from my house x).

(the fight scene at the end is all in the town centre)

On topic, i friend request people on here generally if we have something in common or im keen to game with them :p dota 2 homies being a good example ^^ although as of late i havn't had much time to game :<

YAY! ANOTHER THREAD!

You can't stop me. You're not me. You're a hamburger.

Well, pretty much stated in the title, there. Do you?

I don't quite know what it is. Maybe it's a fear of coming across as stalkerish. Although that would be kinda funny, I guess. To my sense of humour. It's particularly strange when it comes to popular members. NO! Do not send friend requests to them! They are the elite! You are a peasant! They probably get ten requests a day, they'll send their doom soldiers after you!

Something like that.
Damn you! Do you know how hard it is to write as a hamburger? You have roll over your keyboard and hope you hit the correct keys. I've spent hours trying to write this!

OT: I don't friend people on forums. Not even friends in real life.
although, I'm not on forums that often.

Haven't spoken to anyone enough to feel a friend request would be in order.
There's someone who befriended me though and I can't get him to disappear from my profile page. Wish there was some option for that... unless there is and I'm just too dumb to find it.

I find it strange, hence, I have one friend added. And it's someone I originally met outside of the escapist forums anyways.

I'm just not that active here, generally just making one or 2 posts per thread. I'm not a fan of adding someone as a friend is the most interaction we've had is a single quote.

I'm different regarding personal interaction though. I only need to have had 1 drunk discussion with you in a pub somewhere to add you on Facebook.

Sometimes. It's especially difficult for me to click the little heart in the dropdown menu if I know they're female... not because I have anything against girls but because I don't want to seem like Lonely Internet Guy #9846876. Irrational? Maybe. But this is from hearing literally hundreds of women over Xbox Live complain about men adding them because OH COOL BEWBS.

I remember when Bloated Guppy and me got into a huge shit-flinging match over some thread, then later that day we had a heart-to-heart in PMs and added each other.

I'm the same usually. Granted, I don't talk to people here that much, but even when I do I feel like I'm bothering them. Then again, there are exceptions... [sends friend request]

You turned us into cheeseburgers. Anyone who turns us into cheeseburgers can't be bad.

Your name... it is perfect here :D

And OP: Not really, I have no problem with it, as one could assume through my badges :p

I have a horrible time making friends, online and in real life. I'm so awkward. Like that penguin. Sending requests to other people is just so difficult because I don't want to seem creepier than I already am.

I have no problem sending friend request but I make sure that I've at least spoken to the person before I do, it's kind of creepy to send a request to someone you've never actually interacted with.

I'm more likely to send request to people that joke around with me or have a nice solid conversation. I might even friend you if I happen to argue debate with you about a subject I'm interested in, as long as we stay civil about it.

My post count is so small, but I'm actually here pretty often... I guess I lurk to much.
Also, if nobody ever sent out request because they all wait for somebody to friend them... nobody would have friends, and that's just depressing.

I enjoy getting friend requests, but I'm pretty awkward when it comes to sending them myself.

As a rule, if there's someone I'd like to friend I just wait for them to friend me instead.

Nope! I freind people who have consistant simalar views to me, or similar sence of humour... Then I can track them, or find new discussions to get involved with through them!

I also curtousy add anyone I argue with as a good will jesture to show that it's only in the forums, I am not trying to be personal...

I rarely get added back from them...!

Ah, I have no problem with being friend-requested, but when it comes to actually sending a request to someone, I'm stopped by something.

And for all the people who find hamburgers problematic, you are no longer hamburgers.

You are cheeseburgers.
I have a request... can I be a taco instead?
Cheeseburgers are delicious and if I were a taco Id be less likely to eat myself and thus live longer. Please?
