I personally think this is a great game but I would like to avoid a discussion about content. I was playing through the campaign and even the the period music is great I was surprised to find myself a little uncomfortable killing people to it :p. Anybody else think it's slightly out of place.

I like the Vietnam-era protest songs they play in the Vietnam level but generally speaking the music can go fuck itself. I want it to DIEEEEEE.

The Rolling Stones are the type music associated with that era. It's not out of place; it's creating the proper atmosphere.

Good point, wasn't really thinking that soldiers probably did listen to it in combat. Though you music admit that the tone of the music doesn't exactly ease itself so well when you're mowing down soldiers left and right with your minigun.

I thought Sympathy for the Devil was a great choice of music for the boat level and fits the feel of the game wonderfully. The themes of both the song and the game fit together very well and it adds a nice special touch to the game.

As for killing people to a nice rock and roll sountrack, yeah I do agree that can be a little disturbing, but a game set during the Vietnam war should disturb you slightly at least once. If you plow through a historical conflict (or even a fictional conflict) without a pang of guilt or disturbance the developers haven't donje a good enough job, or maybe theres just something strange with you.

EDIT: I think having Eminem play over the second half of the credits kind of sucked. I guess the themes worked well, but rap feels too out of place for a Cold War game and took me out of the experience. Rap didn't work for CoD4 or GoW either.

I actually thought the other song(don't remember which it is) which came on in the earlier level in the US military Base was more in place and created a better atmosphere. In general I don't see any problem with this inclusion, and I really don't see why it WOULD be a problem. It's authentic.
