Does anyone else think Duke Nukem Forever will suck balls of steel?

Hello,
I got the escapist today, and I saw something that made me die inside... Duke Nukem Forever was going to be realeased. I was pissed. How could they do such a thing??? But my anger about how the biggest videogame joke in history was about to die soon faded, and I proceded to watch the trailer. And I was not impressed by any aspect what so ever. The graphics were meh, the gameplay looked complicated and boring, and it seems to emphasis tits and male genitalia too much. If you ask me the entire thing looks like a fucking joke. It is my belief that the 9 guys still working on it just rushed through and put as many tits in the game as possible. (Not that I'm saying tits are bad, but they are only nice to a certain extent, espically in video games.)

But lets seriously look at this,
I doubt there will be online, and just a 10 hour rushed through campeign. The gameplay looked clunky as well. If you asked me, I would say they need to take another year on the game, and then realease it. But the thing I really hate about it is how it is selling for full price. I would never by it, unless the game is exceptional in every aspect.

I guess we'll have to wait and see. But to me, the game should have remained like it's name. DNF.

They've said that there will be a multiplayer.

They themselves have said that the campaign is estimated to be around 25 hours.

Graphics don't make the game.

How did the gameplay look complicated? It's as simple as it gets.

The game doesn't need another full year of polish. It's had 14 years already. I think the majority of your concerns are already handled.

I think it's going to be entertaining, definatly more appealing then yet another 'realistic' shooter. Will it set the world alite? God no, but you can bet Fox News will say something about it.

It's interesting how sensitive they are nowadays compared to before. When Bulletstorm, DNF and Serious Sam 3 will be released, you can bet your hiney that a storm of controversy and misinterpretations will come from the frothing mouths of Fox News and Jack Thompson. But was it this way back when the first Serious Sam's, Duke Nukem 3D and Doom was released? I wasn't old enough to know, but I haven't heard much about there being any controversy back then.

Its not my type of game so I have little interest in it, but Im gonna be watching its progress with interest- is an unashamed throwback to old FPS's, its either gonna be heinously outdated or a breath of fresh air.

IMO the graphics could be better but I'm not really that hung up on things like that.

Also Gearbox are epic at trailers...

I think it will be good.
It looks a lot better than any FPS coming out this quarter, so I'm moderately excited.

Even Crysis 2? I know the online isn't steller, but you've still got a great looking single player mode.

Crysis is one of my favorite games of all time, but Duke Nukem looks better than the sequel for me.

Definitely considering they ruined the nano suit if the 360 demo is anything to go by.

I hope the pc version is very different.

Dude. If you didn't like the trailers and are already jibing about all of the apparent flaws, then maybe it's not the game for you? It's not like someone is going to duct tape you to the chair and force you to play it. (though if someone is planning that, I would be a little worried...)

Why pump so much negativity into something that hasn't even happened yet?

I hope that if you do end up playing you get some enjoyment out of the game. After all, isn't that why we started gaming in the first place? Besides, it's Duke Nukem. It's not meant to be a super srs game. Kick back, have a laugh and punch yourself some aliens!

No, absolutely not. I am saying if Duke Nukem was as great as how he is glorifying it, why does it appear so far down on the list?

Because it was released in 96 smartass and the industry was not as big back then, it also wasn't as easy to get and find out about games and even so it was the best selling game for a long time, plus that is a list of best selling pc games and duke is on it .. do you have any idea how many pc games have been released since the begining of gaming, the fact that a game is on the list shows that it has some merit and yet you focus on the fact that it's so low.
