Does anyone else want to talk about something other that social justice and gamergate?

Yes, I get it, we want to protect our identity as gamers and our community is being attacked. I get that we all want more journalistic integrity in gaming and most of us would enjoy some more inclusiveness in gaming however does anyone else think this whole kerfuffle has been going on a tad too long?

I'm kind of getting irritated now. Every issue has been Gamergate this and Zoe Quinn and it's taking a lot of focus off other issues that might be of more importance that could be getting more coverage and we could be learning about to have a better experience as a gamer. Gaming is a broad and often interesting topic to talk about, debate and learn, shared with a wide audience and there are so many infinitely more interesting things to talk about.

I have enjoyed to an extent debating about journalistic integrity and making games be more representative of the newer more diverse audiences that have changed the face of our community over the past few years. However, I really think there's not much else to be said. Ethics are good, it'd be nice if game companies thought of their growing markets and followed. I'm tired of these discussions making people like Anita Sarkeesian remain relevant as a person in the media who really has finished her point (albeit poorly illustrated as it can be but thats a discussion for another time).

So thoughts anyone? Anyone else want to talk about something else again?

So I got some cherry Pepsi Max this week... and you really can't taste even a hint of that cherry in them. I dunno, seems weird, it's not quite a Pepsi taste, but has kinda a Dr Pepper vibe... either way it's really good in Calvados.

As a person living in Quebec I do find that genuinely interesting as I have never actually seen it in my province XD

That's surprising normally NA and Canada get more of a flavour variety than we do in the UK. It's not a bad beverage, if it crops up give it a go, just as I said, I couldn't really taste the cherry.

Maybe it's because it's Max so doesn't have sugar and the sweetener is subduing the cherry taste? :O

Not really, no. We should all be doing our part to not click, not purchase, and otherwise disrupt business as usual in the gaming community until people with hurt profits start firing the bad seed around here. I really don't want to go back to being told I'm a dead dinosaur by people who generate ad revenue off of me or put up with people who beg the community for donations so they can enlighten us all about the evil patriarchy. Those people need to go, get out, and stay gone.

They're still here far as I know, so I'm really not interested in doing the equivalent of sitting in the tub, playing with action figures, and pretending the outside world does not exist.

Well, I recently had to move in with my brother due to financial and relationship issues (not the abusive kind, it just ties into the first reason, so don't worry). Thing is I don't like him, his girlfriend, or the neighborhood they live in, they have something like 100 terrarium and tank pets, the place is full of garbage, they have a serious bug problem, and they are beyond disgusting and stupid.
Safe to say, I've been getting sick, sleeping and eating little, and have been greatly depressed.

On the other hand, it looks like I got a seasonal job at GameStop.

Hey, sure, I'm up for some gaming-related talk that isn't GamerGate!

For instance, I have a friend that is a HUGE fan of Rooster Teeth in general, and Achievement Hunter in particular. After months of badgering, she managed to get me into them, too. I'm a far more casual fan of them than she is, but I find them a funny, interesting bunch to watch while I work on my various art projects.

Here's the kicker though - I'm a college student, who is taking a class with another girl that, I've noticed, seems to always wear a Rooster Teeth shirt. Eventually I asked what was up with that, and she told me "Oh, I'm friends with Gavin Free. He sends me a lot of free merchandise."

I'm currently debating if I should keep quiet or tell my friend just to see her reaction.
