When bored one evening I decided to look in the loft (don't apply any logic) and found to my delight several oldish pc games one of which being Heretic 2. Never allowed to play this as a small child I was understandably intrigued and then installed it on my pc. Now after a day of fiddling and fannyin' about I still can't get the thing to work. I really can't stress how irritated I am without ranting and raging and curb stomping kittens and I honestly don't know why, its probably not even that good but I want to be the judge of that... so after patching to 1.06 or whatever and it failing even harder than before I tried cd cracking but nobody hosts the torrent and everywhere I search its always for Linux and the like.
When I don't patch it I can play but with no sound, I patch it, and the thing can't find the CD.I then continue to jam it into my CD drive upside-down, the right way up, on an angle, on its edge, left ways, right ways and still it cant find it.
Any help would be really appreciated. Even the smallest detail to help me out would be great.
