Online Platformer based games, sort of like Prince of Persia or Devil May Cry in terms of movement and combat?

Or any objective based online games...MMO if possible.

Objective based being like being able to get together with friends (or solo) and define an objective for yourself (like a 'Saint' run in Dead Rising,) go do that, and receive some form of reward?

I'm thinking Diablo is the only thing for that...

(FYI WoW doesn't cut it.)

Diablo is not platformer based...

You can try Guns Online, but don't expect too much. It's pretty fun for an hour, but since the developers say that some of the bugs are legal ("styles"), you have to practice a lot to be good.

But you will still lose with a script. Mouse1 + Mouse 2 + Space for the win, dance around the battlefield. You might add more, but basically, people with the ability to assign few actions to a mouse button/keyboard have it much easier.

It sounds like Guild Wars is the game for you. Do keep in mind, soloing in GW is VERY, VERY hard. Usually, "soloing" means you take 3 Heroes and 4 Henchmen with you (Henchmen are NPC with set attributes, gear and skills with the intelligence of an invertebrate. Heroes are the same, but slightly more intelligent and you set their gear, attribs and skills).
It has that "set goal, get reward" thing you're looking for. You may tell your guildmates, "Hey, I need some help vanquishing Bjora Marches / I need to do this dungeon in the Homelands so I can fill my dungeon book / I need to kill this boss in Arborstone so I can get his Elite skill" and then go do it. Plus, it must be the nicest looking MMO (yes, I'm calling GW and MMO).

I'm still taking suggestions, by the way. The game doesn't -have- to be a Platformer, the idea just struck me like a rock through my window and stuck about as deep as the glass.

I just want something objective based.

Wow, the only one I can think of is GunZ...and it's been years since I played that game, but it's a third person shooter, but you can run across and jump off of walls, and have a variety of weapons to choose from. I don't know man, check it out.

Guild Wars is free to play once you buy it. I have Guild wars factions right now, but have not played it yet.

Also watch this space, I think I remember a game that kind may take your fancy.

You could try Planetside, but it won't work if you have Vista.

Gunz is a great choice too.
