Sounds like Eric by Terry Pratchett.

It's probably not though.. it's about a little kid that is the Discworld equivelent of a Hacker.. in the real world he would be a warlock.. summoning demons and communing with them.. but it's played off in Eric as a dorky thing to do, and he's protrayed as a stereotypical hacker.
