While i do not actually own a WW2 weapon, i do own: An authentic WWII combat helmet, 9 unfired .30 cal rounds attached to their belt that were brought in on D-Day, and one WWI shell casing, probably french, all of which i picked up in Normandy
How old are you?
16
That sounds like a flat out lie. Unless I see you face to face I doubt you are as young as you claim to be.
Well its not as if i served. i went on vacation to france for a few days and i bought the items while i was there.
Edit: OSHI-
I'll trust you once I attend your 17th birthday party.
Which is impossible.
So ha.

I have in all 29 rifles from the period. Also 7 submachine guns and 3 pistols. A bunch of bayonets.
Damn, I would count myself lucky if I had just one of those items. Just for display, mind you, I'm just intrigued by the archaic design of old weaponry.

While I am thinking about it if anyone has "white fiver's" for sale I would like to buy some.

They have history, you see the Nazis wanted to collapse the British economy so they counterfeited millions of pounds (currency). The plan was to paper 'bomb' England with the money to weaken the economy and making invasion easier. Of course it never came to it as Britain won the air war and the printing camp was captured.

Old guns look good. I've got a bunch of deactivated firearms instead of paintings on my walls.

To the guy who is "intrigued by archaic design", the 1911 pistol predates WWII by a lot and is still in use today. The bolt action rifle has changed hardly at all to this day. I have a straight pull M95 steyr that is an interesting design. I want to get a Swiss K-31, thats a neat design.

I got a friend who we call crazy larry. he has more guns than anyone should really own. he literally has a drawer full of 1911's. If zombie's show up, i'm heading to his house.
dont live in Australia by any chance? i know a bloke like that, he lives near me.
everyone has that one weirdo in their city who goes overboard with guns. I just happen to be friends with one. He shot at a guy at a party. granted the guy wouldn't leave him alone, but still. took out a forty five and grazed the guys leather jacket just to prove he could hit him.

My grandad has quite an arsenal down the pit in his garage. It used to be a bunker down there too, it's a quite industrial and creepy. I don't know if any of the rifles he has still work though.

I have an M44 and two M91/30s. I was going to buy an SVT-40, but ended up going with something else instead. I've fired plenty of WWII era weapons though. There was a lot of period machine guns at OFASTS. The dude in the booth next to us had an authentic Type 96 (I didn't ask how much it cost to fire it!) There was also someone who brought along dual mounted MG42s -- firing that is an experience I'll never forget. Beyond that, there were a lot of 1919s and a few M2s, though a lot I suspect were newer construction.

Machine guns aside, I've played with the usual assortment of Garands, USGI 1911s, USGI M1 carbines, and Mausers. The only WWII Brit weapon I've fired thus far is the No. 5 jungle carbine.
