Pretty much what the title says. I don't know anyone around here who listens to ska and I only know like 3 people who even know what it is, which doesn't surprise me seeing how 90% of my area is rap lovers. ANYWAY, do you listen, like or even know about Ska?

EDIT: When I was first introduced to Ska I was at a Cherry Poppin Daddies concert, I had never heard of them, but other people have, are they fairly popular or am I just out of the ska loop?

I don't listen to it because it sounds a lot like Reggae. It's not my favorite genre, but, some people like it. That's fine with me. It's not for me to judge.

Up beat rock band with a horn section. Pretty much sums it up, as a genre it tends to come in waves that evolve on the previous artists methods. For a good early Ska band look up 'Madness', one of the greats from the 80's.

Well, let's see, a cursory glance at my ipod says I have 2 'Ska' artists on it.

Which would be The Aquabats and Save Ferris. do either of those count?

Yeah a little bit, I don't listen to it so much as I used to but I still enjoy a little of it if I need something to get me in a good mood fast.

Favourites are Reel Big Fish and Madness.

Yeah, I like Ska music. And seeing as how Less Than Jake has yet to be listed, I will do so now.

Sublime and Streetlight Manifesto have already been named. You need these bands in your library.

It's what I mainly listen to (third wave/two tone). I've gone to Streetlight Manifesto/Reel Big Fish concerts so many times I've lost count. However, I have been going to less and less concerts just because of how hard it is to skank there when everyone moshes.

There is a glimmer of hope though, I can still have a good time at an Aquabats concert.

didn't Sublime find a new singer to replace the one who died?
Yes, and got sued by the Nowell family. They operate mainly as a 'cover' band, now.

I love me some Reel Big Fish, though to be honest I never knew they were classified as 'ska'.
