Recentley i bought a shed load of PS2 games. Since then i havent even touched my xbox 360 and i truly believe that the game quality was much better when develepors were not worrying about online and DLC. Games like KH2 and FFX have kept me going for days on end, whereas there are only a select few games on the xbox that even come close to over a 10hour period(games like Fallout and Oblivion are the longest ive played, most tend to have great gameplay that last for around 7hours).

So i ask does anyone else still play their old consoles? and do you think the quality of gameplay was better or worse?

EDIT: I used PS2 as an example because its generally refered to as "old" due to updated graphics, which in my opinion is wrong, but thats whats happening with a lot of people I know. some people were shocked that I even used it!

I still play my SNES quite often, I have a pretty nice library of classic SNES games (and it's also my personal opinion that the SNES was the best nintendo system) I also occasionally play my PS2, but no where near as much as the SNES. I also play games on my GBA if that counts.

I have an NES that works quite well. I play it whenever I want to return to those old games.

I love the NES.

I've started playing my Gameboy Colour occasionally. I grew up with that thing, and I'm ambivalent about nostalgia. Still, it's all good.

That I do. I love occasionally pulling my Genesis out for some Sonic 3 & Knuckles, or Jurassic Park: Rampage Edition, or Ristar...

I play my PS2 now and again. Actually, I re bought one just for FF X. I've sunk 40 hours hours into FF X over the past month and only about 90 hours on all my 360 games and I have a lot of them. Goes to show that the old dog has life in those legs still.

Gameplay wise, I haven't really noticed a difference myself.

My SNES gets played every month. My NES gets played more often, I don't touch the 64 often, the Cube is dead asleep. My Ps1 is a nonentity as far as I care, since the PS2 does everthing it does.

So yes, but in different quantities.
And all my "This Gen" systems are a Wii and a PS2, which I count as "this gen" since it's still going strong.

I recently took my N64 to a reunion with my old school friends. We played Mario Kart and Goldeneye. ^^

I still love my PS2. It's great Sony is supporting both systems. (PS3 & 2)

Well, since my new consoles were stolen, and I haven't been able to replace them yet, my N64, Dreamcast, and psone have been dusted off and played daily. Newest thing I have now is my DSi. :/

I like to play Conker's Bad Fur Day back on the N64 before they murdered the multiplayer on the 360. Perfect Dark falls in that category for me too though the multiplayer isn't quite as bad as 360 Conker's. Heh, I'm also playing FF8 again on my PS3. Started with the discs and moved to the downloaded version.

I still play on my Playstation, Xbox, PS2, N64, and Dreamcast.

And the games on those consoles are so freaking amazing it makes me cry when I look at current gen games.

Goldeneye 007 and Timesplitter Future Perfect are the greatest multiplayer experiences ever. Even compared to todays shooters.

Yes, even better than MW2 and Team Fortress 2.

Power Stone 2 is easily better than any other fighter on the market.

And Spartan Total Warrior and Kingdom Under Fire: Heroes offer the greatest and most fun large scale battles I have ever seen.

And Grandia 2 and Legend of Dragoon are some of my childhood JRPG's that easily trounce todays JRPG's.

And don't even get me started on the PS1 versions of Spyro the Dragon and Crash Bandicoot.
