I completely agree with you: I don't want developers to focus so much on online, I want them to focus on making a worthwhile gaming experience! Of course, online can lead to a good gaming experience, but not if you have as iffy of a wireless connection as I do.

Honestly, though, the thing I miss most about the last two generations is the 3D platformers: it's my favorite genre and there're so few of them now.

I noticed the other day that the lead on the back of the Gamcube has the same shaped port as the one on the N64. So i decided to have 42inches of horibley blurry Goldeneye the other night. Still It did make for four rather big but rather messy splitscreens and it was still bloomin' good fun.

I'm playing through Banjo-Tooie and The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask in-between trying to get platinum for Demon's Souls and Assassin's Creed 2.

I play my Gamecube and PS2 more than I do my Wii, or my PS3 not that I can be blamed. And technically I don't OWN my PS3. My 64 gets a fair bit of use, and the NES still kinda works...
One of my friends spent an hour looking for their old Sega Genisis. They said their brother played Sonic until three in the morning. :D

Recentley i bought a shed load of PS2 games. Since then i havent even touched my xbox 360 and i truly believe that the game quality was much better when develepors were not worrying about online and DLC. Games like KH2 and FFX have kept me going for days on end, whereas there are only a select few games on the xbox that even come close to over a 10hour period(games like Fallout and Oblivion are the longest ive played, most tend to have great gameplay that last for around 7hours).

So i ask does anyone else still play their old consoles? and do you think the quality of gameplay was better or worse?
Dude I just started playing my old pokemon crytstal again, and KH2 is probably one of the best so good choice dude

Well, since my new consoles were stolen, and I haven't been able to replace them yet, my N64, Dreamcast, and psone have been dusted off and played daily. Newest thing I have now is my DSi. :/

The only old console I play is the PS2 for Star Wars: Battlefront 1 & 2.
Best. Star. Wars. Games. Ever. Period.

Hell yeah I do, I have a lot of classic systems, PSOne, PS2, Sega Saturn, Neo Geo Pocket Color Sega Genesis with Sega CD attached. Nothing beats playing the classics on their original systems.

While I haven't pulled my NES out of the garage in recent times I have played the original Bionic Commando via an emulator. I love that game, despite the lack of game-saves.

If I still had all my classic consoles I'd definitely be playing them whenever the occasion struck me but, alas, I sold them off many years ago (which was for the best as they took up a LOT of space and we were moving at the time.) I still have my very fond memories of marathon sessions on "Yars' Revenge" (Atari 2600) or some goofy times showing off "Smurf: Rescue in Gargamel's Castle" (ColecoVision) or even some sweet Tempest 2000 action (Atari Jaguar).

Thankfully, there are enough emulators out there to appease nearly all of my classic console gaming needs.

...I've also recently started playing some Xbox games on my 360. Totally forgot about the backwards compatibility there.
