It seems as though this video may prove otherwise. It's a bunch of my idiot friends attempting to cow tip in the daytime with unexpected results.

you have to have them asleep to knock them over, once you do run like heck cause some can chase you.

Your friends are doing it wrong. Trying to tip cows while they are awake is just an immense show of failmanship. So really, saying that that video proves otherwise is like saying that walking doesn't work in real life because of a video of some guy smashing his face into a wall, claiming that he is trying to walk.

Edit: Also, I wouldn't walk into field with cows anyway, last time I did that was crazy.

A cows average 1300 lbs, most breeds mature around 1400-2000lbs and have a fairly low center of gravity. I doubt you can really tip them.

I have never know anyone that has actually managed to tip a cow either, only people that have tried.

You need to have about five mates and be pissed out of your mind (hence the doing it at night), but I have it on good authority.

I've heard from a video that cows sleep lying down, and that even if you were able to get close enough to tip them while standing, it wouldn't matter. It's not like they're going to allow to be tipped over.

I live in Texas. I've gone cow tipping. Your friends sound like dumb yankees.

Note: You can tip COWS. You cannot tip BULLS. Bad things happen if you try to tip a bull.

Its a myth that it kills them, and that they sleep standing up. But yes many people have tipped them.

All you need to do is have some people pulling their legs in one direction and others pushing its body in the other direction. Then overcoming the huge weight isn't anywhere as hard.

I like how you stop to go, "Oh, this is a beautiful open field!"

Pfffft, everybody knows you can only tip Belgian Blues and juvenile male Herefords, never the adults.

The problem is that if they see you they tend to stampede, and they have very good night vision so it is quite dangerous.

I love it how the cows surround you, as if to say "We are legion!Fear us!"
