Does Dragon Age Inquisition look good to you (EDIT: visuals only)?

It looks pretty, but nothing mind blowing.

Witcher 3 on the other hand is simply stunning and will most likely melt my PC.

I think it looks pretty good, not in that particular screenshot but in some of the others and gameplay I've seen of it. It's not the best I've ever seen but it's not bad. They seem to be a bit wonky around they eyes and mouth with a lot of the faces, particularly when they are actually talking or changing expression but this is hardly unusual.

Graphicly it looks accapteble but the art style is still generic. I look forward to this game but i think i will wait for the game of the year edition.

It's okay, but I'd have preferred it if they'd built on the visual style of Dragon Age 2. I think we'd have more vibrant environments and better-looking characters that way.

That said, BioWare have still managed to get me kind of hyped about the game during E3. No thanks to the trailer, though. Still, I'm not going throw caution to the wind and jump on any pre-orders before I actually know what the end result will be. Not after the initially broken DA2, the disastrous ME3, and the disappointment that is SWTOR.

Graphically the game looks pretty good so far, the models are larger and "chunkier", they look less like actions figures like the last two games.

I get where you're coming from. To me, the game doesn't really have that visual 'pop' that you would think a PS4 game should have. That scene still looks like it could easily be found in Dragon Age II.

However, I don't really mind. Graphics aren't all that important to me. It's the story that needs to be good for me.

Graphically the game looks nearly as good as Witcher 3. However, it seems they kinda backtracked towards Origins in the art style department. Origins, as an above poster mentioned, looks like Fantasy RPG: The Game. You must admit, even if you didn't like it, Dragon Age 2 had more of a unique style to it's art direction. Would have liked to see it applied to Thedas at large.

I know you didn't ask, but quick thoughts on gameplay. Origins was a boring, molasses-paced mess with almost no tactical value (sorry, I like to optimize my play, and when you do that, the gameplay is pathetic). Dragon Age 2 was anime-paced action schlock, but at least it was mildly entertaining, requiring the use of abilities even when optimizing play. This game seems to be a very solid blend of tactical decision-making and heavy-hitting action.

Inquisition is the game I'm currently looking forward to the most, and I've already put in my order for the Inquisitor's Edition. I like everything I've seen so far, and since Bioware haven't let me down yet I'm rather confident in the fact that I'll enjoy this title as well.
Wait dragon age 2 and mass effect 3 didn't let you down? Even a little? Not going into the whole me3 ending, but just the game itself, side quests that all involved overhearing other people and throwing random bits of junk at them to solve?

Or dragon age 2s literally cut and pasted environments? The lazy design of ninjas jumping off of roofs for every fight?

Needless to say, I am not pre-ordering this. While it does look nice, I am capable of learning from the past :p

If you showed me that screenshot without any context and asked if it came from the PS3 or PS4 generation of software I'd have told you PS3. The game is clearly not attempting to push visuals.

That said it looks perfectly acceptable. Not stellar, not insulting, just acceptable.

Edit: The video posted above makes the game look a LOT better in motion. Screenshots alone are a bit misleading.

Personal Note: I have this game pre-ordered. It along with Diablo and StarCraft remain the only franchises I can confidently pre-order and be happy with the outcome. Loved DA1 & DA2. Even the facebook game was great despite it's use of dreaded facebook fee to wait tactics.

Here are some other screenshots if you want to see some different ones.
That one you are using as an example is particularly boring IMO.

Edit: this is off topic a bit but have they said anything about friendly fire? DA2 has it only on nightmare and isn't really built for it which I really didn't like. It makes it feel a lot less tactical when you can just spam AOE to victory without having to worry about timing or positioning at all.

Nah, I didn't feel let down by that. Sure, both games had flaws, like the reused environments and the wavebased combat in DA2 and the lacklustre sidequests and the ending before the extended cut, but nothing to the degree where I felt actually let down by the game. IMO both games were excellent in other areas, and that held them way above "let down-status" for me :)

ok you know how BS the comment about the copy and pasted environments is? DA:O had as many if not more copy and pasted areas then DA2.
