I suppose HD doesn't make a game better but it's nice to have it because the graphics is kind of better, just a little though.

As far as I have seen, HD hasn't changed a game in quality in graphics from an HD and SD tv. So I was wonder, why is there such a great demand for getting one or that a game can handle HD. I have only tried it on Fallout 3 and some demos with no difference in quality of graphics. In fact Fallout 3 looked even worse in HD then it did in SD. So what about HD makes it better? I ask because I can't seem to find a reason why.
I'm not sure what you mean, are you playing HD content on an SDTV? In that case there won't be any difference unless you use say component inputs at 480p where the picture will be sharper and smoother.

Go put GTA IV in your console then go back to GTA 3 and you'll really see the difference.
I haven't played GTA 4 for two simple reason. The game was fun with cheats in the past, and the humor of the past. If a game can't stand on its own not worth picking up till it is in the bargin bin. Which so far is how I have played the entire series that way when people get tired of it. So I can't work with your example.

Now it is running at 1080p I think(I know 10 something but other then that wrong) since that is the setting the dashboard likes. Now for me there has been only one game so far that I have played was Fallout 3, which looked worse in HD. The same was true with Guitar Hero in that what look nice and clean look rather stale. The colors look rather flat in HD is the best way I can describe it.

HD I agree just a new output to put the graphics on. The whole deal is that to push the graphics, you have to push the processor to process more graphic data, since there computer is running more it needs to cool more, to cool more it needs more power, and keeps going from there. So you can see why some people are behind pushing the graphics since it leads to pushing the other parts ahead with a way for the consumer to see the effect of the improvement on the technological side.

It just seems that there is this push behind HD version of games and so far I haven't seen a reason to suport that is why I ask.

It helps atmosphere and immersion, to help make you believe you're there....

And if you think it looks worse, sit further back. Big tv's will never look that good if you're sitting two feet from the screen.

I for one love my 32" tv in my room, makes the 360 look "eye popping". And as for the 40" tv downstairs, I literally get lost in my on gaming world.

So for me, the graphics and quality of the picture does help improve my experience with a game, but does not, effect gameplay.

Only if a better game is judged by being pretty.
Which it isn't.

So, no, it doesn't.
It's like asking "Does a hardback cover make it a better book?"
It doesn't, by the way

Okay, I don't get your first point but try it with say Halo 2 and Halo 3 or MGS 2/3 and MGS 4 or some other title that crosses consle generations.

I still don't get what you mean though, are you comparing last gen on regular TV to current gen on HDTV? Or both consoles on regular TV? Or both consoles on HDTV?

No, when I'm playing a game I get lost in it, it doesn't matter the resolution

But, I guess it would be better for more casual games. Racers, Guitar hero, ect..

The only game I found better on HD was Battlefeild 2, it made the game much easier to get lost in

HD and good graphics can make a brilliant game incredible - especially when dealing with some of the more epic moments in a game, and even moreso in something like an RPG. But if there isn't good gameplay to back it up, it won't help.

High polygons and texture resolutions and HD without a good art team sucks though. If the art design isn't there, no amount of pixels is going to make it look better. GoW is one of the most horrible looking games I've ever played, I prefer the look of most SNES games to that.

Also, if you don't notice the difference between SD and HD, you may be using the wrong setting.

HD ready = 720p
Full HD = 1080i

As far as I know. Someone correct me if its 1080p for Full HD.

Only in extreme cases, the only one example I know of being Burnout: Paradise. I found that it was so difficult to see what the hell was going on sometimes on the SD TV, that it actually rendered the game unplayable to me. Just because the game was so fast-paced and a slight misjudging of the environment can make you fail, without that clarity of HD it was too much of an eye-strainer for me.

Current gen of a Xbox 360 on a SD tv and a HD tv. The game Fallout 3 I played on both and it didn't look like there was a difference. I was wondering if being HD makes a game better, why; since games and video being able to perform the same on what it seem to be what people are pushing these days is all. Sorry if it isn't in the right format to be not confusing. I was confused on the deal was why I asked, sorry if you are not understanding be because of that.
