I listen to music to help put me in moods. Want to psych up? Street Fighter soundtrack. Want to feel cool? The Black Keys. Want to feel like I live in the future, where listening to music feels as good as sex? Daft Punk.

Yeah, most of the time it relaxes me. It's going to need some awesome riffs to accomplish making me feel better though. I've got that covered with the epics.

Definetely, a lot of my confidence is due to listening to uplifting metal. "Die for metal", by Manowar: "I quit my job this morning, swore to ever hold my head up high!..." Sums things up quite nicely. Stand tall and don't let others push you around. Music changed my life for the better.

I don't know, is it relaxing music?

Music makes me feel what you'd expect it to make me feel. I don't go and listen to the Monster Hunter theme to calm down, that's what Clutter exists for.

Well, yes. Music can make me feel serene, ecstatic, spiteful, sleepy, inspired, or sometimes emotionally high, even. Put me at a Depeche Mode concert and fire up Never Let Me Down Again with a heavy bass pounding the air and I swear I look like a druggie the way I start swaying back and forth with my eyes closed.

By the power of association it can even change the way you feel about things, or bring back old memories you forgot you had. Every time I hear Gymnopedie by Eric Satie I calm down and remember the bright white winter mornings of early 2011. And every time I hear I Want You Bad by Offspring I feel instantly embarrassed at the thought of that stupid gym class warm up that I had to lead once.

Depends on the music, I suppose.

I get a lot more into playing music than listening to it these days. I bought a loop-station recently, and I tend to throw down a few minor chords to create a nice slow blues track to play over. This is very relaxing, and has the potential to make me late for things.

Definitely, and it doesn't even matter in my case if the music itself is relaxing or not. I like to listen to music that matches whatever mood I'm in, so if I'm happy I'll listen to upbeat stuff, which will make me happier, and if I'm upset I'll listen to appropriately sad or angry music and...well it'll still make me feel better for whatever reason. I just love music I guess.
