Well, thanks for that lacktheknack. I'll now be spending all of my time on there. To the post-hardcore section!lacktheknack said:Off-radio music, though? Nope, it's better than ever before. Look into genres you used to like on Bandcamp, you're guaranteed to find gold.
We have TVs at work that play that song about every five minutes. And I love every second of it. Her voice is really amazing.Marter said:Sorry, but music doesn't suck nowadays. We're getting great songs like this. Music is fine. You must just be getting old. ;-D

beats a little generic and poppy for me...but she DOES hit those notesMarter said:Sorry, but music doesn't suck nowadays. We're getting great songs like this. Music is fine. You must just be getting old. ;-D

That was freaking great. Sounded like Jai Paul on an off-day (which, while not Jasmine levels of excellence, is still really good.)Vault101 said:I'll listen to it when I get a chancelacktheknack said:[

k, I demand a music swap.

Well it's the internet attitude. What's popular is not responded to well outside of the biggest sites (i.e. Twitter, YouTube, Facebook). In fact there are reasons to despise some of the stuff no matter what type of entertainment it is (Film, music, games etc.). Those songs are still selling tens of thousands every week (the US Top 10 will usually have at least 100,000 sold per week per song) but unless you go to the videos themselves or check the sights you probably wouldn't know.TopazFusion said:Now this is where I get confused, because I always thought "pop" meant "popular".
But going by this thread, you'd think "pop" was short for unpopular.
Whatever. Here, have what I believe to be a very good (recent) pop song:
It's alright. I didn't listen to Warrior until just before Crazy Kids came out as a single, I just get fussy with dates.Gxas said:A MISTYPE TO BE SURE! (I had to go back to when I posted it and I posted in January of 2013)
That is a wonderful way to word it! I like the album, well enough, but have always felt as though it was just lacking a bit. Still, ARTPOP gets more plays than any of her other albums for me.
...hmmm I think I dig it, though not sure about the whispered vocals, some songs are never as good as their first 30 seconds (which is like...the make or break moment, where once it lays down its hook/chorus its eather really good, just as or a big disappointment)....still I'll have to give it multiple listenslacktheknack said:That was freaking great. Not as good as the leaked version, but still dang good.
Huh...I can see why people are saying that Britney Spears' Mars themed videoclip was better.Marter said:Sorry, but music doesn't suck nowadays. We're getting great songs like this. Music is fine. You must just be getting old. ;-D

ok here's something a bit different (I don't think the video really does it justice)

In fact in the Led Zeppelin days that crappy pop music that is now forgotten was more popular in the charts than the classic rock from that era.Hero in a half shell said:This right here. The good stuff from the past we still listen to was the cream of the crop. There's probably just as much shitty music from the Led Zepplin days lost to time as there is playing on the radio or on itunes right now.

Rick Astley was a one hit wonder. Never gonna give you up was always popular since its release. Albeit it was school disco popular but popular nonetheless. You could say the same about Britney Spears etc. They will be remembered for a while (its almost 20 years now)thaluikhain said:People who get paid to remove tattoos?shootthebandit said:If you look at todays music who is going to remember nikki minaj or justin beiber in 45 years
Having said that, it's very difficult to predict in advance what elements of culture will last.
Maybe they'll be the next Rick Astley, or nostalgic might kick in hard.
