Does not having split screen ever piss you off?

Only on consoles. I understand why it isn't on PCs, since I could not fit another mouse and keyboard on this desk. Plus this screen is only 17 inches.

I used to play a ton of multiplayer games with my brother, who lives in the same house as I do, with one Xbox360.

With no split-screen in some recent games, it's becoming harder to play games together. : \

I thought people tended to use gamepads for the second players.

OT: No, I'm a PC gamer so I've never had it, and when I've played it on a console I've found it irritating.

Yes. Yes, it does.

At least the Halo FPS games had that going for them. No matter what, when the next one hit shelves you just knew it was going to have splitscreen.

yeah. i love resistance cause it had split screen and i could play with my brother. i bought resistance 2 and played like 5 mins of it cause it didnt have split screen.

i think the game developers think people who play games play alone in a dark room with a pile of empty coke cans next to them.
What?
Resistance 2 has some of the best Split-Screen action i have ever seen in a game?
Have you not even tried the online co-op?
Or the fact that you can play online against other people and it have split screen?

Its always the game that i have to break out when i have friends around
did it really have split screen cause i didnt find it. im just confused cause you say it had split screen and your talking about online coop as well.

im taliking about split screen in the single player campaign like it was in the first game. are you talking about split screen where its just a bunch of missions with no story?

Yes, though more the fact that everyone's concentrating on online play. I've always had more fun playing with people I actually know rather than some stranger halfway across the world who will likely insult my mother just because they happen to be a sore loser/winner. Which makes it a good thing that I don't play on LIVE or random matches.

Also, I miss being able to play games with my little sister. The only ones we can really play nowadays are Left 4 Dead, Resident Evil 5, LittleBigPlanet and the Fable games.

Personally, I think Uncharted 2 would have been awesome with split screen. I get that the graphics would've been downgraded, but RE5 managed to do it and still look pretty!

Wow, I thought you were going to segway into CoD Black Ops since it does have split screen.
Co-op splitscreen campaign, guest splitscreen online, and splitscreen zombies.
These features do nothing but improve the game.

Yes. It really annoys me if I invite a friend over to play a game only to realise it doesn't work with split screen. It used to be a given to include it, any game that didn't have split screen didn't sell. Why has that changed?? It's just so much fun to be able to brag to your friend about PWNing him while in the same room.

Because apparently online sells now. I know so many people (my brother included) who will buy a $60 game and play it to death online but won't even touch the single player.

I dont know about you but I get a great joy from having a couple of friends over and popping in a multiplayer game. This saddens me dearly... U_U
I couldn't agree more. I go to a place called NEG which has two tvs with each console and a heluva lot of computers. But when I wanna go play on an xbox with some friends and one of the TVs is taken I need the split screen. Also, if there is co op I don't want two copies to play with my dad.

Yeah, everyone is making these games for the online component. It's so retarded, because many different things go into making a game, and making a game too specialized can kill it. I miss bots and games that were optimized for splitscreen.

Sure, but why not play online split screen? No matter what kind of game it is, adding split screen takes barely any effort design-wise (it does take a lot of effort for the coders though...), and there really is not excuse for not having it.

I have to say I played Black ops yesterday and from what I played I like everything but the match making online or off. Campaign good, Zombies the highlight of the game ( which surprised me ). However I felt this was the worse match making CoD ive seen.

Im glad they had at least 2 player split screen. But they had 4 people. Why couldn't they made 4 player split screen? System link is a hassle.
2 is all I needed, no one wanted to play as Zooey and Louis anyways

I stopped caring about split-screen when I found out I don't really know anyone to play with. My work schedule messes it all up.

That's my gripe too. I mean its a game where four people run around on a team. How could it not be more perfect for 4-player split screen?

I'm generally annoyed by how most game developers feel that the only way people play with their friends is online or at least on two seperate systems. Me and my friends love to get together and play some 4-player splitscreen against one another. Sadily we're generally limited to MW2 and the Halo games as barely any other games have 4-player splitscreen or even just split-screen in general.

Wow. Really? I recall both Yatzee and Extra credit touching on this topic about the stereo type of calling ourselves Gamers. Just cus you play video games does not make you an antisocial looser in your moms basement.
