Does Razorfist have a problem with Yahtzee?

i liked how he said breath of fire was the same game as final fantasy 7. really. so following that logic, chrono trigger is the same game as lost Odyssey. call of duty is the same game as halo, and tetris is the same as Dr. Mario.

I see the "point" he is trying to make, but it makes him look really stupid. he just assumes that people don't like turn based RPG's throughout the entire video at one point even saying "I don't care how you feel but thats just bad game design"

Ironically enough, my favorite style of RPG is turn based. I love my fables and my fallouts, but give me a good old turn based game any day of the week. so... to me it's great game design. and im sure im not the only one who thinks so.

He's very hypocritical. im pretty sure he's trying to be a troll, and he's failing really badly at it. i like how he calls yahtzee a part of the "mouthbreather brigade" when he spouts more non-sensical, racist bullshit then yahtzee ever has and how his videos are longer then yahtzee's. also, was this meant to be funny? if it was I feel bad for the kid... he doesn't know how to write jokes at all.

Yahtzee has a weirdly professional mannerism to his rants. Also Mr. Croshaw has wit. This guy just has vulgarity, take that away and he's not particularly funny or intelligible. Not being an Escapist fan boy, it's just true. Even my friends who don't play video games think Yahtzee is quite funny.

Ehh.. i dont put much stock into many game critics. Hell I disagree with Yahtzee more than half the time and Im still wondering how much he had to have been smoking in order to give Dead rising 2, His number 2 slot this year. I can only assume its his critic equivilent to a pity fuck.

I don't know if its because of what I've seen in media so far or not, but I have to agree. Maybe it's more the fact that when the Brits do it, they're more subtle. This guys just sounds like he was yelling and ranting about how horrible it was (and bashing people who get hyped about it, ). Which he essentially was. I don't know what it is, but Yahtzee just does it more wittier than this guy, who just verbally shits on it, which really doesn't make it that fun to listen to.

But he made no points. At all. It isn't a "review" by any stretch of the imagination; it's just a dude acting like a petulant 14 year old in front of a camera.

He just sat there and called the fanbase names for 10 minutes. My personal opinion of the fanbase aside, was this even necessary? What the fuck does the fanbase have to do with the quality or merits of the game? What is he actually reviewing?

"The game had CGI cutscenes!" - Still isn't a point in an argument. It's a fact. He tried to say that the games had too many CGI cutscenes, but that's the closest he came to making a point, and it's one that is entirely subjective anyway.

Razorfist (he needs to earn that umlaut) is just a random hypocritical asshole trolling for video hits, and based on the responses he's received indirectly as a result of this topic, few people are buying it.

Very true. I was giving him the benefit of the doubt saying he made a "point" but it was mostly sarcasm, as I feel the same way as you.

Skipped through small bits of that FFVII video, couldn't stand him. He lacks any personality, charm, wit or thought to his arguments and instead goes for the try hard approach (aka. sounding like a mad 13 year old fanboy on Gamefaqs). What a dumbass to criticize guys like Yahtzee/Avgn, this is one of those cases where he wishes he had the popularity of them and instead of accepting he needs to work on his material with defend his techniques repeatedly.

Oh Screwattack, you used to be such a good site, am I the only one who just goes "Meh..." at their newish content? I was a fan of them even back in the Handsome Tom days far before he left. It was better back then, they had a good dynamic with eachother, all the newer guys aren't likable at all.

Yahtzee mentioned once in a video and a few times during events (cons, desert bus etc.) that he enjoyed Final Fantasy VI when he was a wide eyed youngin' and the turn based combat was quick and dirty, as if they were ashamed of it. After VI he didn't bother because it turned into something that just wasn't for him.
