The ends never justifies the means; being weak self-justifies using the most unchallenging method to get where other people are.

It's a game, any and all maneuvers that are not prohibited by the game are legal. Me and my old roommate argued about this a lot when we played Madden because he thought it should be played like a real football game, and I don't know a damn thing about football and just did anything I could that didn't get me a penalty to make the little numbers next to my name go up.

If you don't like it, play with house rules, but you can't complain when other people don't want to play by your's.

What ass hats. Even if they're having fun doing it, they ruin other people's games in the process. Exploiting weaknesses in the rules at the detriment of other players is as bad as cheating outright.

Of course not.
I'm reminded of one of the tech quotes from Civilization V.
?As soon as men decide that all means are permitted to fight an evil, then their good becomes indistinguishable from the evil that they set out to destroy.?
? Christopher Dawson

I suppose that doesn't mean much when it comes to AC:B though, does it? Having never played AC:B I'm not really sure I understand the situation. If they're taking advantage of a flaw in the game just to get ahead then that's cheap and it ruins the experience for everyone else.
Definately!
It is weird that the Assassin's little motto thing is 'Nothing is true, everything is permitted' which weirdly goes with the quote you just said!

Game wise I think it's a massive hole in an otherwise perfect game!
Well this could lead into a huge philosophical discussion.
As far as the game goes, sure they could use such cheap tactics to win, but in the end what will it get them? A high score that ultimately doesn't mean anything and a huge shit load of enemies.

Oooh, you mean they stand over you until you get up again, then rinse and repeat?
Bingo. No fun at all.
Well that's just bad sporstmanship!

Quit out and join a different game - I never had that trouble if I'm honest (played online for about a month).
SPORTSMANSHIP!! That's the word I was looking for. Yes, it's about sportsmanship. No body wants to play with a poor sport and I imagine that guy will find that out soon enough.

So basically. Does the ends justify the means?

DISCUSS!
No, in a game gameplay comes first, leader-boards come second. Sportsmanship and teamwork, and playing by the damn rules are the order of the day for everyone to have fun, that little thing we actually play games for (or entertainment if you prefer).

Its a game, so as long as you're having fun I suppose its ok.

As long as the rules aren't being broken of course. I can't stand it when people mod/hack the game for their own benefit. That's just uncalled for.
