It's gotten very good reviews, but I've seen next to nothing of the game itself. I might actually buy it, but I don't tend to go for linear RPG's very often.
Is there a demo? At the very least I want to know if I'd enjoy it...

Sadly not. But for what its worth, its a damn good game that improves on the first in, like, every way. And its awesome, to the max.

Don't think so. Also The Witcher could be the poster child for non-linear stories.

I was afraid of that. Why would a company not release a demo? It will lose more sales from no demo than it would from hiding behind not letting people taste it first.

It is looking very good, and I will say I'm tempted. Can't say I dig the aesthetics much though. Hate to be a graphics 'guy', but it does look pretty.. not that good.

Considering its the first medieval game in a long time to not turn the brightness down to 30% to be all gothic and dark I gotta say the aesthetics are one of my favorite part of the game so far.

You're in luck then because The Witcher 2 is not linear at all. Based on your choices you might not get to visit entire cities and every decision matters. To make things even better choices you make aren't obvious black and white like in Bioware games. You never really know what they'll lead to much later in the story.

This. I decided to be the good Samaritan, and boy was I 'disappointed' with my my 'reward'.

Meh, I should finish the first one, I remember running of Drowners to kill in the first village and giving up ... those Drowners I tell ya, apparently they only came at night. My Witcher only work during the day!

I wonder if we should have an online petition; if only so CD Projekt can see how many sales a demo would generate. I'm very much appreciating the look of the game, but I would like a demo.

I bought the 1st Witcher on a complete random purchase and let say that, Im damn glad i Did. Even to this day i still play the 1st one from time to time. If the 2nd one is Anything like the 1st one or better it is DEFINITELY worth a buy. I'll be going tomorrow to pick up my copy of The Witcher 2

I wouldn't be surprised if TW2 won RPG of the year

I know a friend of mine bought it. After the massive disappointment that is the first game. to the point where I feel robbed for my ten dollars. I will be playing her copy before I even remotely consider purchasing my own.

Exactly! I need a demo. I can't blindly buy a Witcher game again.
