How is any of what you said a spoiler?

If I want to avoid spoilers, I simply avoid anything to do with it.

I still say that sword had the most ridiculous name I've ever seen, by the way. No offense intended, of course.
How so?

You get points for recognising it, at least.
Overlooking the fact that "daystar" is kind of an oxymoron (even though they're there regardless of the time of day, one doesn't exactly associate stars with the daytime; not even the most obvious star during the daytime is commonly thought of as such), it just reeks of forced fantasy naming scheme to me, and doesn't really sound organic at all, even amongst its surroundings. It even has a clumsy ring to it. Just felt she was trying too hard.

Yes, I realize its name is meant to signify something to the effect of "the herald of the sun's arrival", that it is supposed to be symbolic. I still think it sounds silly.
Heheh, I suppose your right to some degree. I still like the way it sounds though.

I'm not really as much of a fan of the series as I was when I first read it (I was like, 15).

All the main characters are too perfect (especially Rhapsody, she's the biggest Mary Sue ever). But it was my first epic fantasy series, so it will always hold a place.
I still enjoy it to an extent, though it's extremely easy to nitpick. I find Rhapsody herself much more tolerable if you think of her as just a binding force for her more interesting supporting cast (characters like Achmed are at least portrayed as having actual flaws for reasons other than being endearing, even if said flaws are bizarrely inconsistent at points), an excuse for them to interact with one another.

Everything after the third book was way past the point of ridiculous, though.

Yeah, I agree. It's just easier to finish the third book and leave it at that, since it pretty much feels like everything after that is just tacked on.

Yes, it does make you an asshole. It takes a second to type "SPOILERS" and then people who want to continue to be intrigued by the events of the game don't have to have their experience dampened. The fact that you childishly continued just to spite the guy makes you even more so, but the fact that you made this thread shows that you know it was wrong.

For instance, the story for Mass Effect 3 has been leaked, so I'm going nowhere near anything to do with Mass Effect 3 (off this site, anyway).
I wouldnt worry too much. I'm doing the opposite to you, and I was just specifically searching for them for 20 minutes and im unable to find a damn thing.

Yeah, because you've probably also ruined it for a couple of people who didn't whine and ***** about the original spoiler.

If you really have to an ass (you don't), you should have just PMed it instead.

I don't quite understand why he feels you spoiled it. Unless your leaving a few details out from us. If you honestly just said "The hitman soundtrack well suits the last Dark Brotherhood quest" then that's fine. Its not like your spoiling the fact that there IS an end to every campaign. "OMG I DIDNT KNOW THERE IS A LAST MISSION!"

However if you described why it suits the final quest then yes, your spoiling a bit and should practice a little more consideration. It depends on the degree of the spoiler. Either you or he may be over-reacting.

No offense, but since you created a thread dedicated to somewhat rhetorically asking about your innocence over this little disagreement it doesn't make you look like the most noble or understanding of people.

i did private message him all the spoilers to avoid any one else who didn't piss me off with it. the thing is all i put was in the last few missions, didn't say what the missions were. I think the thing that pissed me off so much about it is lets just say this
in skyrim you kill dragons. that is made very clear from the beginning, the second you join the dark brotherhood you are told what they overarching final kill is leading to. in my opinion saying oh yeah at the end after 5 hours of build up and getting ready and then finally doing the final part without a hitch while the hitman soundtrack played. trust me there are alot of twist and turns that i in no way mentioned and i no way ruined anything about the dark brotherhood until some one complained to me about how i cant do that.
lets just say it goes something like this

SPOLIERS SPOLIERS SPOILERS.....there are dragons in skyrim (you see how thats really obvious)

SPOLIERS SPOILERS SPOILERS.....your told about 5 seconds into the brotherhood that you will one day kill the emperor.

i feel like thats saying in harry potter voldamort killed his parents SPOILERS

First off. Where were you posting, because if you were posting in a dedicated Skyrim thread then I'd say it's the other dudes fault he got spoilers. If it was just in a general thread and you forgot spoiler tags then its sort of your fault.

Anyway. Does sending him a list of all the spoilers from that mission make you an asshole?
Yes.

But people will be assholes on the internet. Might as well get it out of your system.

I hate people who spoil games. I accidentally found out several facts about Arkham City like the end boss, before I've even played the game, and it's pissed me off so much.

You shouldn't spoil any games for like the first year after they come out.

so im in a forum talking to some one about how playing the hitman soundtrack during the last couple of dark brotherhood missions in skrim just seem to fit. some guy came in complaining about spoilers and how i ruined his skyrim experince. being pretty tired of people that allways whine and ***** about spoilers i put a responnse of every single little thing that happens in the dark brotherhood just to piss him off. does that make me a asshole
Ok, if I've read this right, then You've just made a broad, overarching comment that the Hitman soundtrack fits the last Dark Brotherhood missions. Now, if that's all, then unless you've given specifics, I've seen you do nothing wrong. Given the fact that the Dark Brotherhood is all about the assasiny stuff, I don't see how you could have spoiled it by saying that the music fits the missions.

Asshole... Unless you put it in spoiler tags.. Yeah a tad, though the circumstances of the thread title will fetermin if he was asking to
Run into spoilers or not.

Bad gamer?
NO!!! xD

Being an gamer has nothing to do with forums. It's about how well you play a game ;)

Personally I don't really mind spoilers. If I find a story interesting I will see it to the end myself even when I know how it ends. Better even, a few times I was getting bored with a book and skipped to the last chapter to see what happens and got even more motivated to see what led to that ending.
Also there are lots of little things that you will never know unless you follow the story yourself.

Concerning the Dark Brotherhood in Skyrim I don't get why knowing what happens in the last missions makes it any less enjoyable. There's no twist in it or anything.

You're supposed to enjoy the story and development (and gameplay), not go straight for the ending and loose interest the moment you know it. Why do you even bother to play (read, whatever). Instead of avoiding spoilers just read them and save yourself a lot of time wasted speeding for the ending. (you-people overreacting over spoilers)

People on the Internet tend to overreact to spoilers and/or don't get that posts on gaming forum after release of something as big as Skyrim are very probable to be about it. Also (might not be actually relevant it this particular situation) I hate it when someone post "Thanks for ruining my game" in a thread with a name suggesting a high probability of spoilers.

Al least thats what I think on the matter of spoilers in general.

It was a bit immature (and possibly inconsiderate to others in the thread if they weren't expecting that much information), but I think angrily and loudly complaining about spoilers in a public forum you entered voluntarily is a bit immature as well. Politely asking for spoiler tags is one thing, but a temper tantrum is out of line.

EDIT: Oh right, forgot you pm'd him. So it was a little cranky, but that's about it.

Yes they tell you that early on, but there's a huge difference between "Lol dude you get to kill teh emperor" and the game telling you through story reveal, you just kind of telling them what is going to happen kills the experience, no matter how far in it is revealed. This is different from the dragons because it wasn't supposed to be a secret, so there's nothing to spoil
