I got a new head, he's strict.
We can't eat outside, we can't have watches and I have a problem with the fact that the entire country has to wear uniform.

Only seniors can go to the library during lunch hour, and if you're not a senior you can't even leave the cafeteria. Lucky me being a senior this year.

we aren't allowed to throw snowballs
Neither are we, it can really make winter boring.

And we also aren't allowed cameras. Because they're "distracting".

And a rule back from when I was in middle school was "Only six people per lunch table in the cafeteria." And all it did was make people choose certain friends over others, resulting in some pretty sad or pissed off friends.

Well, we aren't allowed to bring tear gas to school. But at the same time we aren't allowed to bring a gas mask.

What if someone breaks the rule, and god forbid, I am not allowed to bring my gas mask that day?

Not really..

My German school had no silly rules as far as I remember, only sensible ones (no snowballs, no electronics on during class, that sorta thing), never bothered anyone holding hands or kissing or something.

One teacher once asked me and my then girlfriend when we were holding hands "can you do anything apart from that?"

Now - we have professional standards. Hair has to be tied, lower arms bare, no jewellery, short nails, and when working preferred white/bright and inoffensive clothing. Health care professionals stuff.

I don't mind uniform as much, as I actually *like* wearing suits :)
Same here.

Also, I don't see the problem with a "No Music/mp3 player" policy. Back when I was at school, the only big rule we had (other then the usual uniform ones we have in the UK) was no mobile phones as they were worried about people getting them stolen. Other then that it was just the usual no fighting or running in corridors etc that most places probably have.

All it takes is 1 or 2 retards to ruin things for everyone, cases in point half of these rules are here because pepole are idiots. My school now has a rule that only clear bottles can be used as water bottles, because a bunch of idiots spilled soda and such all over the halls last year, and a group of geniuses thought it would be a GREAT idea to get drunk in school :|

Fuck, you don't know MY school.....

Ok, because of low test scores (despite us having the IB Program here), our school has been completely reformed.

How? Well, for one, HALF OF OUR WHOLE FACULTY HAS BEEN TRANSFERRED TO OTHER SCHOOLS! (This includes supervisors and such, not just teachers.) Besides that, all of us are forced to wear leotards (I think that's how they're called) that have our ID cards on them. Also, During lunch (which is now two seperate lunches), we can't leave "the designated area" (what we called "The Quad"). One last thing that I know is that our Break period (which lasted 10 minutes in between 2nd and 3rd period) is gone.

So how is any of this gonna raise our test scores? Seriously, WTF? Our district is funding our school less, when it should be funding it more.

I'm sorry, that was my little rant on my Senior year. Actually, Ive been meaning to make a thread like this, but you beat me too it, OP.

Pokemon and Magic cards were banned at my school after they were deemed to present false idols and non-Catholic magic. I go to a Catholic school by the way.

No Joke:for 3 years the highschool code of conduct said "no underwear worn on the out side,no low-cut tanktops,no turtlenecks." in my school you could use a loop hole to go without a shirt.i looked in my code of conduct book after watching an Episode of iCarly and found that.

Have to be taking at least three courses per semester, even if you don't need the credits.

I went to a split-site secondary school, and despite the fact that roughly 98% of my year (we know, we checked) walked or got public transport to school (all of us lived outside the area between the sites, as was the nearest bus stop) during the school day, we had to be escorted between sites in our class groups by a teacher. Meant we missed about 20mins of every science, technology and PE lesson, as well as assorted lessons in some subjects. Apparently we couldn't cross the road until we were in sixth form.
We also had the usual uniform crap. Had to wear blazers at all times when outside, had to wear shorter skirts than we were allowed to wear the rest of the time for PE, too.
