Oh and I forgot to mention, the librarian's a complete ***** at my middle school, and wouldn't let anyone in once all the chairs were taken.

I only wanted to quickly go in and out to get a book, but nooooooooo. Chairs are soooooo important because without chairs, the Covenant, the Combine, the Super Mutants, the Enclave, the Space Pirate Union and their pet dragons that breathe evil, corruption and bad grades will descend and ruin our day.

Because I would punch them all back in the time it takes to make a sandwich. If you were the Flash.

What were we talking about now?

ugh....dont get me started >_<
blue or white polos only
blue pants or khakis only
no hats
for boys hair must not reach collar and ears should be visible
no carrying backpacks past locker
on dress code free days, no words on clothes, no sweatshirts with hoods
no cellphones
thats all i can think of at moment
other than that it depends on teacher, some will give detentions for no reason and some are cool

my old secondary school had some pretty weird ones.
we could not tuck our pants into our boots during the winter( the school puts out a metric tonne of salt outside and the salt eats the bottom of the pants and ruins them. and the school pants were not cheap)

we could also not have visible tattoos one of my fiends had to wear a sleeve over his arm for three years because he had gotten a tattoo on his innter forearm.

Since I'm a complete computer guy it's all I really do during lunch and break. However, in the library they have the most bullshit rules ever...
1. No Internet on the work computers. (for the most part, unless it's obviosly a site for info they will talk to you)
2. No form of any violent video games.
3. No watching people/friends play games.
4. No food (no eating kinda makes sence, however you can't even be carrying it)
5. No USB sticks (that one really bit me in the ass as I did a big project at home and brought it in on one)
6. If you are sitting at the tables you MUST be reading a book, no sitting or talking quietly.

Also, the librarian can monitor your screen from his computer, and even make a message pop up with whatever text he wants (was once playing games on a work computer when an error popped up saying get back to work or leave). Not to mention the librarians are the dumbest people Iv'e ever met, they actually thought flash games could install viruses and that USB sticks were harmful.

However one time I stuck my whole SWRC folder onto my USB stick and brough it in when they were gone for the day, copied it to everyone elses profile, and had a 6 player multiplayer match :D

My school is pretty good with rules. Though my friend goes to a Christian college and they don't observe labor day.

No smoking on school property, no coming to class on drugs and a few other rules are really the only rules enforced at my school.
I break them everyday but have never been caught so i don't mind.

In my school you cant make the gun sign with your hand because it's a death threat.

Talking about halo isn't allowed in my school because I said wraith tank and my teacher though I said something wrong and the school is afraid of me flying a banshee through the window.

No talking about guns because it's not like my whole class kills at least 50 people a day in MW2.

Well mine just opened two weeks ago, so its really leniant, I mean there's a girl with dark pink hair attending. But the one thang that pisses me off is that we have to stay in the lunch area at all times. It's a four by four school so I spend a lot more time around the same people, so maybe I wanna get the hell away from all the crap I hear all day. Ooh that was a cool rhyme, anyway I understand why we have it but come on, the teachers constantly walk by and say hello to me, why would I even think about doing narcotics?

My school was pretty easy going on the rules. Students were not allowed to wear hats in class but were allowed to wear them in the hall and the cafeteria. The one rule I did not like was the one where we were required to go to every assembly.

I could understand the requirement to attend an assembly with a special guest speaker but the ones that were held just to raise school spirit seemed ridiculous. I would have liked to have stayed in class and finished my homework instead of having to go to an assembly meant to raise school spirit and raise morale for the sports team.

Stupid? Not really. I mean, there are policies that I feel are impossible to enforce, or policies that I feel might make it more difficult to learn but they all have sound logic behind them.

For example, in the Dorms it is against the rules to have a member of the opposite sex in one's room after a certain time. I myself have noted, on several occasions, that such a thing has transpired and yet I'm certainly not going to report that event by itself. In another case, in my Computer Science classes, it is against the rules for me to do any research regarding a solution to a problem, including collaboration with a peer. We can discuss a problem at a "high level" but anything terribly specific is forbidden.

In both cases, enforcement is all but impossible but the intention is noble enough. In the former, the rule seeks to prevent scenarios where one party might engage in some activity they may regret. In the latter, the goal is to prevent cheating, which has become all but impossible in the face of the internet.

On sport days we had to wear school sport socks and only those socks, otherwise detention. I could live with that if the socks weren't such useless pieces of crap, they nearly shred themselves if you try put your foot in normally and were coloured white, with huge ugly red and yellow stripes.

No hats, no sunglasses, no trench coats, no boots.

In one, small sentence in the school handbook, they annihilated my entire wardrobe...

Well, my old high school had a giant cougar face painted on the floor of the concourse, and if you stepped on it, the activities director would literally yell at you with a bull horn.

It was kind of pathetic.

We have to wear shorts during term 1 and 4 because its hot.

Also we can't have "crazy" hair dos, even though the person who made that rule has spiked up muzza hair thats half purple, half blonde.

My junior high was the only one with a dress code in the whole state. Fuck my luck.

My highschool had a "No public affection" rule where students weren't allowed to hold hands, hug, kiss, ect. But this rule was enforced with bias. A friend of mine and here girlfriend (Lesbians) were sitting should to shoulder at lunch an a place far away from the main crowd, One of the "Assistant principals" decided to swing by. He saw them and to them down to the office to scold/call parents/give a warning. On the way TO the office, he passed at least 6 straight couples making out. He didn't even bat an eyelash at them.

we could not wear:
hats
sunglasses
shorts
flip flops
unnatural hair or hair color
no cellphones or mp3s
no piercings for boys
no public displays of affection (this was up to the teacher who busted you to decide if it was appropriate or not and one in particular busted people for holding hands or hugging)
we had to wear ids around our necks at all times
no backpacks period
and we had this large ridiculous list of what was gang related and forbidden to be on campus
for example what i can remember: confederate flags, male female symbols, tragedy comedy masks, smiley faces, dice, shaved heads, sports symbols such as the astros star, and alot more

In my middle school we had to have our school ID to get in the lunch line. If you didn't have it you had to wait until everyone else with their ID got in the line. It was supposed to make people want to wear their ID's but everyone just put them in their pockets and got them out for lunch.

Also no cellphones, though that's to prevent cheating.
Other than that my district is pretty lenient, though at random times twice a year they run a police dog around the school during class and break open the lockers with weed in them. About 60 kids last year got suspended because of this.
Also:
No water bottles without a nurses note.
No hats. (Depends on teacher.)
No headphones/mp3 players. (Depends on teacher)
No inappropriate clothes. (Only ever enforced by the Spanish and Music teachers)
No backpacks out of lockers.
No handheld videogames/no electronics. (Depends on teacher.)

I don't think anyone bothers enforcing these rules at my school...
