So I've been talking to my brother about playing New Vegas. To further pique his interest I have made this instructional video for New Vegas.

Can you guys think of anything else he should know just starting out? I've told him some of the differences with Fallout 3 already.

Oh and don't take Boone near any Legion troops and don't take Ed-E... well... anywhere. Buggy little fuck picks fights with everyone.
True, but he also makes it so that you can see Stealthed enemies on your compass and that Stealthed Enemies go unstealthed when you VATS them, which IMO is Damn Useful. Ed-E + Boone = good stuff.

Ooo, yeah, Ed-E is amazing. Good for when he runs into Nightkin >_> he'd be pretty upset by them...

Was that a bug?
I mean the thing is enclave technology maybe it was programmed to pick random fights sometimes. >_>

But back to being on topic- save the game often on multiple save slots, be prepared for bugs, and VATS isn't quite as godly in Fallout New Vegas.

So... Fallout:NV consists of being shot in the face and then running backwards while shooting at onrushing wildlife?

With some stuff in between, yes. Though you can choose not to run when you level up.

I dunno. Cazadores are rape just about all the time if there are enough of them. Got mauled by a group of 6 on my hardcore playthrough. Companions dead in seconds and my 32 stimpacks weren't enough.

No kidding, I hate Cazadores. I'm a sniper though, so i can at least damage them a bunch before they get to me. Any more than 2 and I have to find a good place to stand, or there is no saving me..

:/ I almost never seem to have AP rounds, and everything seems to be armor plated in that game. I buy/make all I can, but it's never enough ;.;

To be fair, they'd be much easier if Obsidian hadn't completely nerfed Grim Reaper's Sprint.

A high luck stat coupled with Mysterious Stranger and Miss Fortune doesn't hurt. But it's never a guarantee.
