Am I the only one with problems when it comes to shooting Geckos? I don't know, they always come running with this huge smile on their face and then when you shoot them they clutch their head in agony...I....I just can't bear to kill them.

Poor little Geckos.

Speaking of Deathclaws, is it just me or they're a whole lot tougher than in FO3

They used to make me laugh, now they make me cry... no kidding i run away when there's more than 1 (and sometimes just 1...) i used to be able to take them 3 at a time easy in FO3

In Shadow of the Colossus, one of the later colossi was Cenobia the Lion. It was that one in the ancient hidden city. When I started out I was terrified of it as it ran around smashing into pillars and breaking them with its heavy armor. But then it knocks a wall down on itself and breaks its armor clear off. The armor in front of his face is half knocked off, so you can see one eye looking out at you and the other is hidden behind the armor.

In spite of this, it still tries to smash into you as soon as it sees you. And if you hide behind a wall or pillar he'll run into it and knock himself out. It sounds hilarious, but really it's sad to watch, especially if you stand somewhere where you're not in any danger. Cause he'll just keep ramming into a pillar and knocking himself out, over and over again.

I felt bad after I killed him the first time, because I realized how small and actually non-threatening he was compared to all the other colossi. I don't like to fight him anymore, or Celosia, the other small one in the fire temple at the bottom of the canyon. So teeny...

Oh yes. That's because of the Damage Threshold system. Deathclaws simply have amazingly high DT. That reduces your damage by a flat amount, making all weapons except high powered rifles weak.

Yeah, I've been playing on hard and v. hard. the only way I can kill the deathclaws is a stealth critical using a sniper rifle with armour piercing bullets to the head. I can then finish them off with regular shots as they run towards me. If I don't get a head shot, I run the fuck away.

If they catch me, they one, or two shot kill me.

I can also take one down if I sacrifice my followers to do it.

I used to play archlord, and hated the first few levels where you had to go out and kill hoards of cute little deer that were just minding their own business.

I managed to get through Quarry Junction pretty easily using an Anti-Material Rifle and getting sneak attack criticals on all of them. Boone helped when they got too close though.

OT: Yes, it is difficult to shoot them and see them writhe in agony. That's why I use a friendly shotgun blast to the head; no more smiles, no more agony.

I feel manly if I kill a pretty harmless young one, or a blind Deathclaw. Like a king. Then a horde of proper Deathclaws appear and rip me to pieces for my sins...

I have no sympathy for geckos. If you attack me, you're gonna get shot in the face (or possibly hammered or ballistic fisted, depending on my mood).
