Don't they always replace the blood with green goo and call everyone a zombie?
Pretty sure they did that with the German release of Carmageddon etc.
pretty true. in "soldier of fortune 2" they replaced the soldiers with robots and have oil for blood and in "half life 1" they also replaced the seals with robots and removed the blood entirely.

yes, they are very strict with censoring stuff. not only with games, but also with movies. you want to buy "evil dead" in germany.... good luck.
even the DVDs of movies are cut. unless you see a sticker written on it that says "uncut version". otherwise you can buy the same movie but is still cut. really stupid. they seriously think they protect the children from violent behavior.

Oh, happy day! Come, my German friends, take up your chainsaws and raise arms against the demon horde! Remember, to win the game, you must kill the one known as "John Romero"!

In a ironic twist, 16 year old Germans across the country became Teutonic Knights, citing Doom as the inspiration they needed to join the order to destroy demonic beasts. When told that demonic beasts are surprisingly uncommon outside of Doom, the teenagers gave a collective sigh and all went home to play non-violent games.

Hopefully this means a possible weakening of censorship laws in Germany-when Sony was giving out free games after the PSN debacle I cringed on behalf of the German gamers when I read what games they would be lumped with.

I did a lot of Doom 2 editing but I never released any of it. I do have some ZDoom maps in TeamTNT's Daedalus project.
Nice! I was just one of their beta testers, never a full-fledged member.
