Doritos, found their way to the bottom

I live in NewZealand and we are pretty much the asshole of the earth =P
Although were not behind in technology and things like that, we are behind in comertial foodstuffs.
And recently Doritos have arrived.
There was a huge hype about it (T.V, Radio etc) and the sales were huge.
I sampled them myself and they taste just like an ordinary cornchip, infact i've had better.

Someone explain to me why they are so popular? especially in North Countries

i'm in brittan and there aren't any dorritos ads here (or atleast none that i've found) and i think it has something to do with the fact that they let people design ads for them and give people the chance to have their name on TV and get paid at the same time.

other than that i'm assuming dorritos has monopolised the corn chips market and people have no other choice.

They're most popular in the US. Know why? Because the the US Food And Drug Administration is FAR too lax in what they allow in processed foods. The FDA is a joke.

In NZ I seriously doubt Doritos taste anything like the US version, thanks to your food laws.

I really like the Cheesy Doritos (especially with Guacamole) but they totally suck as a base for Nachos since if you microwave them they go completely soggy.

Perhaps the ones you had didn't take the journey well and went somewhat stale? Or maybe the ones you get are different to the ones I get?

Anyway, I love them myself, I buy several packs whenever I can. I eat a lot of cornchips, but I'd say for taste, Doritos are the best.

yeah, i like Doritos, I dont bother to eat much stuff like that and its usually the cheapest and the better than the homebrand stuff i find normally.

Pretty sure I remember a load of Doritos ads when they first came out here. And also last year, but admittedly no more than any other walkers crisp.

You know that in terms of nutritional value, Doritos are one of the best crispy snack foods on the market right?
