I saw a double rainbow on the way in from the city today. It cheered me up. Why make the thread? I was wondering what my fellow Escapist's imagined was under them as a kid.

Personally I always dreamed of a portal to another planet, one inhabited by sentient dinosaurs with superior technology. I had have a vivid imagination.

Your turn!

[sub]Also share rainbow pictures if you have them :D[/sub]

What does this mean? It's so bright, it's so vivid.

I just had the typical notion of a leprechaun, gold pot thingy.
I guess I never gave it enough thought to think of anything else.

Here's a Rainbow:

Everybody knows that the rainbow is actually the named Bifrost, and is the portal to Valhalla, the realm of the Norse gods. (Not Marvel, but Scandinavian mythology)

Rainbow Da- aww...
Anyway, I never really came up with mythos for rainbows. Mirrors, however [insert rant] and that's why I hate ants!

That if you walked under them, you would change your gender.

When I was little we used to read this story. In this story, this girl walked under the rainbow and turned into a boy. Or was it a boy that turned into a girl? I can't recall. So, I believed that is what would happen.

Now that I think of it, sounds like a gay metaphor.

that was sure ignored fast.

anyway, i asked my mother what a rainbow was when i first saw one and she just said, "leprechauns." then my dad explained that they happen when the sunlight passes through water and that they're not terribly common because you need to see them at just the right angle. so after that, i liked seeing them but i've only seen about six in my life.

I had a Rainbow fish memory card game. That's right, I know you're jealous.

You know I can't ever remember a time when I thought rainbows were magical. Kinda makes me sad when I think about. I think I just always assumed there was an explanation to it, course I'm kind of a bastard when it comes to nature.

Though I guess I once did believe in Santa so theres that. Damn, I miss believing in Santa and waking up as early as possible, my grandparents always beat us to the punch though. They kept the tree empty of gifts and undecorated in till Christmas morning so it looked like Santa had come. Each gift was labeled from Santa.

Well you've no imagination as you say, thus no concept of fun. Or true fun. So your opinions are darkened.
And as I said haters gona hate. You trolls arn't to hard to catch you know. Throw a biscuit down a hole and they'll jump in, or you'll jump in, hahaha.

I always thought there would be an actual, definable end to them, and that you could stand in it, and it would be like standing in a fine mist of water, only colourful. Maybe it would feel tingly as well.

So, a decidedly uninteresting possibility; but at the time it seemed quite reasonable.

Isn't it closer to trolling to completely ignore what the OP just asked not to do?

OT: Pot o' gold, and for some reason mashed potato. I liked to think of clouds as mashed potato, and at the end of a rainbow you would be able to have some.

I've only seen a double rainbow twice this in my life. And it was this year. They look nice but I'm fairly sure that there's no gold underneath.
Also one of the double rainbows (which was also ALL THE WAY ROUND) I saw at the beach. It's pretty magical to see one of those out over sea while standing on the beach. But yeah, that's about it.
I haven't got any photo evidnce though.
