WTF indeed.

I just hope my Rock Band instruments will work with this game. More songs = good, after all.
Unfortunately, the last news I heard was that Guitar Hero was specifically going to be incompatible with the RB instruments. There was a big deal about it, but Activision decided that making instruments that worked for both games would give too much business to the competitors. Once again, last thing I heard was like months ago.

Eh, the whole damn industry is built on copycats, I mean, the 360 is planning to turn itself into a Wii in the near future.

...Well, duh. The Guitar Hero drums are completely different from the Rock Band drums, so that would never work. The GH4 guitar has a touch pad on it for the song creator. The Rock Band guitar doesn't. The mic is pretty much the same, but honestly, who cares about the mic?

If all this keeps up we will have a new rip off guitar hero and rock band that they are going to keep making until eventually everyone forgets about simulated guitar playing.

I was extremely upset to see that it was basically another Rock Band. I still haven't bought Rock Band for a few reasons:
1) I don't have three players handy at all times.
2) It costs me a paycheck and a half.
3) It sounds like absolute shit.
4) I live in a dorm room eight months out of the year. Where in my tiny dorm room am I supposed to fit a fake drum set?

I like the guitar because it's entertaining, one-or-two-player, easy to play for a short amount of time, and although it costs a bit, it at least doesn't fill my tiny dorm room.

That said, I will not be buying Guitar Hero: World Tour under any circumstances. And I get an employee discount, so that's saying something.

Standing in the corner pointing and laughing at people

Haha, suckers!...

Ok sorry, anyway I don't own any music game at all, not GH 1-3, encore, Aerosmith, or Rock Band. It was just always so expensive. Buy the game and then a peripheral I'm only going to use for that game and nothing else, never mind buying three of them and the game...oh well I'll just mooch off my roommate who I know will just haaaave to have this one.

After buying Rockband + Drums just a month ago, i should be filled with rage about the whole incompability thing...but it's somehow hard since (a) There will probably be new Rock Band Songs every week till RB 2 comes out and (b)Rock Band 2 will be "Just like Guitar Hero:World Tour, plus ______"

I have my fun right now, and i don't feel any jealousy that GH:WT will have more features and everything. I will buy the game if at least the Singing and Guitar Playing works good with the periphials i have here, but if that does not happen, i rather stick with Harmonix and hold out for Rock Band 2.

Amen to that

The only way I'll buy GH:WT is IF they get Dream Theater. Just because they said that they WANT to get DT in Game Informer does NOT mean they have 'em, they said the same thing about Zeppelin. And it also depends on the songs they choose, yes they have Van Halen, but if it's Van Hagar forget it.

Too many factors come into play, it'll be close to release day before I decide.

Well, I was glad with that announcement, since there is still no release date for rock band, and the latest announcement would put it at a price of 320 dollars (yes, sales tax has been taken off).

So, chances are that GH will actually be released before rock band, and hopefully, for a price that at least a bit reasonable.

Like Rock Band, but with a different title.

Seriously, a different drum kit, and a possibly new guitar controller aren't cutting it for me. I've never been big on "Create Your Own XXXXXX" interfaces apart from the character ones. That's only (barely) acceptable because I like seeing myself, as it were, in games.

Plus, my room already has three guitars, the drum kit, the microphone, my real microphone, the normal controllers, my games, my TV etc. etc. in it. I'm running out of space here! I need to SLEEP in my room too ya know! Not to mention forking out at least $150 for the blasted things all over again. Sod you people, I'm out of this.

I'll most likely be eating my words if they ever make a "Piano Hero/Villain/Whatever" game. I love rock songs with a piano in them. I think it adds real depth to the sound. That's why I play it in my band.
