Not really, I like it, especially when it adds some decent stuff to the game. What I don't like is when it is only handed out on some systems. Sonic and Sega All-stars Racing...DLC on 360, and PS3...none on PC or Wii. Resident Evil 5...just released more DLC and Versus mode for the 360 and PS3...yet nothing for the PC. They even said they don't think they will be adding DLC for it on the PC for a bit...or not at all...but apparently Versus mode is already set up on the PC disc...that's just stupid.

And I don't really care what other PC gamers say..I would rather have official and professionally made content, rather than random mods(unless its for Bethesda games).

I like DLC for games I really enjoyed, but I don't like having to pay for it. I agree that I've already payed a substantial amount for a game, the additional content should be made available free of charge because if it comes down to buying a new game or wasting money on bits and pieces from a game I've already played and paid for, I'll save money towards a new game before spending cash on additional maps/missions/content.

My point is the X-box live is a lovely feature that lets me pay even more money for the good stuff, also I have to pay to be on the gold subscription which is the subscription that gets all the good stuff (I see a pattern there). The Ps3 people however dont have to pay just to be on the live feature.
Just wait for it, it is coming. They will be charging for things soon...no idea what, but there are definite rumbles about starting to charge for "extra" features on the PS3.

Be grateful it's only $60, us Aussies get hit with the "fuck you" charge, bring the price up $40-$50 (I'd make a point about how strong our dollar is, and how the American dollar is of almost equal value, but our economy got kicked in the groin pretty hard today, so I'll save it for now. The gap, however, wouldn't even be half what we are charged).

DLC should be a good thing, but it apparently has negative connotations. For example, rather than spending $x on a new guitar hero game, surely it would be better to just buy the tracks you want as DLC. I can understand why people would be annoyed at having to buy DLC so they can properly finish fallout 3, yet nobody ever seems to ***** about that specifically.

Everyone seems to think along the lines of "I want shit for free, every game should be TF2", well tough shit. The reason games like TF2 have such rich free content is because valve are pushing (rather hard) for steam to maintain its success, it's by far the worst of the online DRM/store platforms, yet is by an even further margin the most successfully. Coincidence? Unless valve decide they hate profits and do something monumentally stupid, this isn't going to change in the immediate future (despite what other companies do), as such, free DRM to support a separate platform (at least on the PC) is a wasted effort. As it's damn expensive to convince developers to release free, console exclusive DRM for your console, Sony/Microsoft seem to have stopped bothering. Basically, if you have a problem with paid DRM, then you (you plural, I mean all gamers on your chosen platform) have to buy games in such a way that necessitates fierce competition between publishers/developers.

DLC. Good idea for PC users, since more often than not it's free to get the DLC content.

As for 360 owners...keep in mind that your DLC products are being siphoned through a service owned and regulated by Microsoft. So, naturally, anything that's using up bandwidth that they're paying for, they're going to make you pay for as well. Not to mention that the game companies have to get paid somehow for the Downloadable Content they poured money into making.

DLC is great in that, you're paying money (sometimes not) to get something that they hadn't thought of, or couldn't fit, or didn't have the money to include. It's not as much as a full on expansion pack, it's not as much as a full game, or sequel. It's a cheap little addition, and the fact you're bitching about it costing a little over five to ten dollars is just silly. Would you rather wait even longer, and buy a sequel to the game that's a full on $60?

I think DLC is awesome, but that's only because I have money and I'm not anti-capitalist. If you were broke I can see how you might dislike DLC. That's because you are broke though, not because it's evil.

I like DLC. It's an additional bonus you can (voluntarily) purchase if you like the game and want more of it. If you think a particular piece of content is a rip-off, well, no-one's forcing you to buy it.

Yes, it can be ridiculous. In my mind, the GTA4 DLC is an example of it done right. Oblivion's "Horse Armour" is an example of how to do it wrong. (Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine rocked, though)
