I've heard of Baldurs Gate... is it really as good as everyone says it is? I can play older RPG's as long as they're fun (also, I don't mind spending $10-$20 on a game that's older bc if I don't like it, I didn't waste too much money)
It is really that good. But of course your mileage may vary. You can get it fairly cheaply from good old games.

So, anyone want to recommend me a decent RPG that I can play for PC.
RPG's i've played-
Fallout (all)
About to play neverwinter nights but It doesn't look incredibly interesting.
Dues Ex (kinda RPGish)
Skyrim
Oblivion
STALKER
The Witcher 1&2
Two Worlds II
Mass Effect series
Everquest 1&2
...
That's all the RPG's I can think of that i've played, anyone have any suggestions for a GOOD one for PC?
I'll also recommend Dragon Age: Origins, going by the assumption that the list is essentially complete.

The D&D games get tentative recommendations: Icewind Dale, Neverwinter Nights (which you say you're going to try), Planescape: Torment, Baldur's Gate, Temple of Elemental Evil. They're in the same isometric dungeon-crawl-esque view and game-play as the original two Fallout games and they're really hardcore RPGs. A lot of people on this website herald Planescape: Torment as having the best story in any game, ever, throwing almost as much praise toward Baldur's Gate as well. Just be wary, the gameplay can be difficult to get a hang of because it's very much based on Pen & Paper D&D rules.

I'll also throw out a recommendation for the original Fable game (it's the only one I've actually played, but most fans say it's the best of the three). It'll probably be dirt cheap for PC now and while it's pretty easy, your character does start out fairly weak and get built up to being a god at the end depending on how much you level (I personally essentially broke the game by finding a place to grind XP and power-leveling almost everything about 3/4 of the way through the story).

If you haven't played Deus Ex: Human Revolution, then that gets my recommendation. It's . . . less RPG-ish than the first Deus Ex, but it's still a rather solid shooter-RPG.

Don't know if I can think of any others that haven't been said already.

C'mon, that never stopped people before. Most mods that are considered essential for some games weren't officialy released either. ;)
No offense, but that's kinda missing the point. Since most mods are "officially" released by their authors, and posting to most download sites effectively publish them worldwide. :p
None taken. I could go on, but there's no reason. Plausible argument is plausible. :)

Onto "less known, but interesting crpg games" part of this topic :

Lionheart ? The original Lionheart that is... :)
Yeah, I remember that. It was the first game to use the SPECIAL system outside of Fallout. It's a very engaging setting that, as I recall, gets ejected and turned into a linear dungeon crawl basically after you finish the first city. Still, up until that point it's a fantastic game.
Aw c'mon. Linearity isn't that bad if properly used. But, to each his own. :)

And now, for something a little different :
Rainblood: Town of Death
http://www.moddb.com/games/rainblood-town-of-death/downloads

At first - it's one of countless games made in RPG Maker.
At second glance - it's yet another ninja themed games taking place in eastern setting.
But... I know only a few games with such dark atmosphere of hopelessness. Also it's quite original in terms of graphics and even usual "Attack-use potion-defend" routine isn't that bad.
It can't be compared to let's say, Mass Effect, still, a hour or two of good fun. :)

Tsk, tsk, my good man !
Original Fable looks like this :

...and i'll bet my ass that half of people here don't remember it at all. ;)

Dragon Age: Origins gets a glowing recommendation from me. Dragon Age 2 gets a less stellar recommendation, due to the copy-pasted environments, trimmed down character customization, and lack of epicness, but it still has solid gameplay and well developed characters.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution is also good, but it might not have as much RPG in it as you like.

Alpha Protocol has some serious issues with bugs and its boss battles don't cater to stealth builds at all, but is also a good choice.

You might also take a look at Jade Empire. It's nowhere near as flawed as Alpha Protocol, but it's still got some rough edges, so be prepared to get past that.

I'd probably say Sacred 2 would be good for you. It's basically Diablo, but more overworld. Has the same difficulty progression as well, and is actually driven forward by the story, as opposed to it being an afterthought

I've never ever heard of it but it was on sale (STEAM) for $5... anyway, long story short I was bored at work today so I started looking at videos of Dark Souls and I was going to buy it but I found out that it is not for PC so I got uber disappointed and here I am... Downloading Neverwinter Nights. Basically, I'm looking for a fun (new-ish) RPG to play, i'm a big fan of building my character for nothing to godmode+1000 but I want something innovative and that has cool armor (lol, I know its dumb but I hate copy and pasted armor that just has an extra zero added onto the stats... hence why I ragequit everytime I try to go back and play Everquest.)
So, anyone want to recommend me a decent RPG that I can play for PC.

I just checked, and it seemed NVN 2 was the only one on Steam, and I heard the first one was better. Did you actually get NVN 1, or did you just forget the 2, cause I've been looking around for 1.

Oh god, I'm reading this thread and all I can think about is, I'm off work for 5 days and it's ages since I played NWN2. Killing dragons with magic missiles is always fun.

I've played 80% of the games mentioned on this page - some of them multiple times. This thread is like a role call of how I've wasted my adult life.
