Being Australian, I haven't seen the episode yet. However, I will shed some light on what I can answer.

how did they know what the Tenth Doctor sounded like? Haven't they met him before (The Sontaran Stratagem) And Malcom didn't...or Directory Enquiries woman.
why UNIT, who have fought aliens, were gawping at a flying bus? Wouldn't you be confused when you see a flying bus? Not if I'd seen a rampaging pig, a saucer hit Big Ben, a 40 foot tall robot, giant maggots and been an elite trained team.
Why isn't anyone aware of this swarm that devours a planet annually? Because no-one's survived to tell anyone about it? So it's actually more deadly than the Daleks?
How come the Sonic Screwdriver works on EVERYTHING? Didn't it always (except on deadlocked stuff)? Seriously, I HATE that bloody McGuffin. Deus Ex Machinae.
How do they fly if they're made of metal? How do planes fly if they're made out of metal? They have wings?

It's Doctor Who. Fiction. All the technical jargon they used in the show is impossible (including time travel) so why are you worrying so much about it?

Because some episodes, even the rare ones of RTD's ACTUALLY please both sides. That's why it's so bloody frustrating when they go for LCD, when Family of Blood etc. can get BOTH.

Seriously, I'll be glad when RTD dies.

You seem to be forgetting that without him, there wouldn't be a new series.

Slight problem with all these Master theories guys. In Doctor Who Confidential after the end of series 3, RTD stated he had no intention at all of bringing the Master back, hence the open ending of a womam picking up the Master's ring, leaving it open for the next director/producer to bring him back if they so wish. All the RTD written episodes seem to have been the worst in my opinion too. Only exception being "Tooth and Claw" and the series end episodes.

Wondering why UNIT couldn't have sent another bus, with supplies/troops/HELP through to bring them both back through. Hell, even a HUGE METAL STICK to drag the bus back through.
Why Lee Evans didn't blow the hole immediatly after the bus came through; by the way they were looking they were directly on thier tail.

Simple, it was going straight up at the width of the tunnel, so stop all air traffic and block both ends of the tunnel (Which they did)you just wern't listening very well . Shoot on sight is pretty self explanatory is it not? "Just shoot anything that looks like it could kill us the second you see it"

Stingray things were AWESOME, but besides that it really was just "The Doctor meets Lara Croft". I loved it but slightly disappointed. David is an awesome Doctor, better than Chris in my opinion

Ok time to sort a few questions out.

Our motorways don't create temporal rifts because they arn't constants, if we had a motorway, that goes around the entire world and have every car on the world driving round at exactly 33mph the whole time then yes, our motorways would make temporal rifts. It takes the Stingrays a whole trip around the planet to create it.

The drive didn't specifically need gold it needed a malleable metal and a couple of other metallic properties, which their gold chalice happened to have.

The 'rays were already at the planet when the Flies got there and spaceships don't instantly teleport to the ground and all engines need ventilation don't they?

The bullets wern't particularly effective, but they wern't made entierly of metal, there were soft bits in between the metal exo-skeleton and it was more of a metal coating (doctor said they eat metal and push that to the outside of their body), not a solid metal body.

It was a night bus and I mean it was practically empty, so if there are free spaces downstairs you aren't going to walk upstairs for no reason are you?

There was so many 'rays do you think they are going to all line up and go through single file?

The crystal wasn't worthless, it was some gravity based engine, hence the gravity well (the tunnel she went down red button was for access for engineers duhh) and gravity clamps.

"Sonic" means it would work off sound waves hence the noise, so it sends out waves to do it's magic.

Thats all I can be bothered answering, it's TV it all doesn't have to be perfectly explained there are some things you just leave be others you just listen and you know the answer to.

Edit: They can fly, due to being aerodynamic and they have undulating wing type things.

actually they were blocking it so ppl didn't go thru not blocking the actual rift.

and shoot on sight means exactly that, shoot if you see something. it's pretty straight forward english

Yeah, that's what I would have said, but apparently it means "Wait until you see the flying bus go past and the three killer enemies and your commander tells you to fire" to shoot.

The rest is just excuses that should have been within the exposition, but weren't. Internal consistency supports suspension of disbelief, and if you're just prepared to sit back and accept it all for a bit of fun, who cares about a storyline? Why be afraid when the Doctor just wins without reason? Why couldn't he have plugged his screwdriver into the bus and magicked it out?

Most of these problems could have been solved with one line of dialog, that's the shocking shame of it. The fact that these weren't caught with a prime budget and prime time showing is atrocious.

i agree with you, i had the exact same thought. i was wondering why there were no other people appearing on the desert planet when the rip was 10 miles wide. surely there would be a few hundred cars/other people caught in it before the managed to block it off.

dont mean to be a bit of turd here but Lee Evans said 10 miles high I think, I might be wrong, my main gripes were:

1. He ditched the hottie!!!
2. The blue dudes were a bit cheesy and
3. Not enough of the young black guy - he was funny
