In the PC version, the autoattack works just fine. It's never not autoattacked something I right clicked on to attack.godofallu said:Someone told me that in Dragon Age two the default mode of attack requires you to mash the attack button for each attack.
What they meant to say was that there are no options for this, and that you are literally forced to hit A every 3 seconds.
It doesn't seem like too huge a deal, but it basically single-handedly ruined the game for me. Well that + the inability to zoom out or look over the battlefield to plan.
I'm not going to get into the story or characters or my opinion on the game, just a quick PSA for those who have been mislead.
well not all problemsKefkaCultist said:Go get yourself a nice PC and play it on there. All problems ever = solved.
Okay, ALMOST all problems lol. Possibility that they may take out SecuROM since theres no info on the game containing the DRM anywhere. I think EA had legal trouble for a past game for a similar offense, but I may be wrong since I'm tired and my brain doesn't like thinking.Fret098 said:well not all problemsKefkaCultist said:Go get yourself a nice PC and play it on there. secuROM in mah dragon age!? lies!
Honestly, I wonder why people play games on PC. **shrug** I can't stand gaming on my PC.mireko said:I didn't know that there was no auto-attack on consoles.
Then again, I didn't know people played Dragon Age on consoles either.
Why do you assume that you can't pause the game and micromanage on the console?mireko said:I can understand that play style not appealing to you, but don't act like it's somehow inferior. Except that there wasn't an ending, not really.fingerbang143 said:I actually love pressing the buttonsbut then ending of the game was absolute shit I'll give you that
Well, it's a matter of personal preference.Bara_no_Hime said:Honestly, I wonder why people play games on PC. **shrug** I can't stand gaming on my PC.mireko said:I didn't know that there was no auto-attack on consoles.

Then again, I have a big ass TV and a comfy living room, so perhaps I'm biased. Also I use a laptop (which, while it's a quad-core powerhouse, needs significantly better cooling to actually game properly on).
Hey, I wasn't trying to mean about console players, I am a console player, just not with Dragon Age. I was responding to a post accusing my play style of being lazy and uninvolved.Bara_no_Hime said:Why do you assume that you can't pause the game and micromanage on the console?mireko said:I can understand that play style not appealing to you, but don't act like it's somehow inferior. That's how I play. You shoulder trigger to pause the game and access party options (at least you did in ME 2 and DA:0 - I haven't bought DA2 yet because my Sig Other wants to get it for one of my birthday presents). It's a power wheel, rather than... whatever the PC uses (they look different I'm given to understand) but it flows nicely with the analog sticks. I thought it was very user friendly - particularly when I played a mage and needed to be raining firy and icy death down upon my foes pretty much constantly.
So yeah, there's no reason to be mean about console players. We're playing the same game as you, and many of us use the same tactics and play style as you.
Well, I haven't had a proper computer for gaming for awhile, and with the deadline to pre-order the Signature Edition, so it was get it for my 360 and also Pokemon White for my DS, or pay a little over a $100 for a proper graphics card and not have the money to get any new games for 5 months or so.mireko said:I didn't know that there was no auto-attack on consoles.

I wish people would stop suggesting stuff like this. What are the chances that a person is going to have the many hundreds of dollars to spend on getting a proper gaming computer, and even if they do have the money, what are the chances that it is all disposable income that can be used on wants.KefkaCultist said:Go get yourself a nice PC and play it on there. Yeah, the game uses SecuROM for release date activation.Fret098 said:well not all problemsKefkaCultist said:Go get yourself a nice PC and play it on there. All problems ever = solved.

It's a question of what feels better to you. I in turn "don't get" the appeal of gaming on consoles, because I personally find controllers to be uncomfortable and awkward. I also don't have a decent TV and don't see the point in paying so much money to get one solely for gaming, since I don't watch TV.Bara_no_Hime said:Honestly, I wonder why people play games on PC. **shrug** I can't stand gaming on my PC.mireko said:I didn't know that there was no auto-attack on consoles.

Yeah, I'm cool with PC gamers - I just don't want them imposing their views on me.lithium.jelly said:It's a question of what feels better to you. My amazing gaming PC cost me ~$880 to have it built. I know many people don't just have that money, but thats why you save up for it for like a year or so. Mine took me a summer worth of putting away a chunk of my paycheck each week, but I got it eventually.Sonic Doctor said:I wish people would stop suggesting stuff like this. A new PC is about a once every 5 year purchase for me. It's been almost three years since I got may latest computer, but since I didn't have the money, my Dad got it for me and he definitely wasn't going pay the extra money for even decent gaming capability. It can't even run games from 2007.
I *really* need to stop posting divisive oneliners on this forum.Sonic Doctor said:Well, I haven't had a proper computer for gaming for awhile, and with the deadline to pre-order the Signature Edition, so it was get it for my 360 and also Pokemon White for my DS, or pay a little over a $100 for a proper graphics card and not have the money to get any new games for 5 months or so.mireko said:I didn't know that there was no auto-attack on consoles.

Besides, my friends were getting it for their 360's and we usually get together one day a week with our 360's to play in the same room, talk, and give each other help if someone needs it.
Fair enough. It's just the style I prefer with this kind of game. I find the Mass Effect games to be more comfortable on a console as well.Bara_no_Hime said:Okay. **hugs**mireko said:**snip**
Sorry, I'm just a little sensitive to that - you wouldn't believe how many people bitched at me about buying ME 2 for the PS3. And DA:0. So I'm sort of conditioned to defend the console versions of Bioware games. ^^;;
To be fair, you can hook your PC up to your TV and use it for pretty much everything.lithium.jelly said:It's a question of what feels better to you. Bah, don't get all down on yourself. I didn't mean to criticize what you said, I just like to talk a lot about my reasons for doing things.mireko said:I *really* need to stop posting divisive oneliners on this forum.Sonic Doctor said:Well, I haven't had a proper computer for gaming for awhile, and with the deadline to pre-order the Signature Edition, so it was get it for my 360 and also Pokemon White for my DS, or pay a little over a $100 for a proper graphics card and not have the money to get any new games for 5 months or so.

To be completely clear: Playing Dragon Age on a console is perfectly fine.

Well, you have to take into account people like me as well, that don't have a job because of the way the job market is, and because of the job market, employers are being way too picky and have too high standards about who they hire. College doesn't matter anymore; the only thing that matters is if you are an experienced veteran to the job market or have some kind of internship experience for at least 4 years.KefkaCultist said:My amazing gaming PC cost me ~$880 to have it built. But anyway, I was more just joking with my original post as I actually play a few games on the PS3 & PS2 still and only became a big PC gamer several months ago.
Also, just for like a tip of the day: its actually better to find someone who knows what they're doing and have them build a PC instead of buying them from Dell or whatever. It ends up you pay less for higher quality (unless the person building it buys overpriced stuff of course.)
It's just an even more casual version of DA1 if you played it, or let's say it's an action RPG.Random Fella said:I don't get it is Dage2 Good or bad?
