I'd like the ability for the player character to be any race again and as for the squad I'd like mostly new characters with 1 or 2 old ones returning (like Merril or Morrigan)

I wouldn't mind having oghren back, however, anders can go to hell. that f**ker really pissed me off at the end of DA2.
I want NO returning characters it would be great to meet them in the game for a little cameo, but aside from that I want some all new characters
1. The chantry seeker girl that is being told the story of Dragon age 2 by Varric. You know the one with a tomboy hair cut and black armour? I want her as my romance, because her hair has really grown on me (geddit?). I seriously expect her for DA3 remember everyone I called it.
2. Another Grey Warden (there probably will be one, I am not excited for one though)
3. I want an Antivan Crow who is more of a bad ass like Altair from AC1. Zevran was annoying and kept on saying stuff like "mmm I av been rescued by a very ansome man", plus he couldn't fight for shit. So yeah an Crow who is actually an ASSASSIN would be awsome.
4. A Q'unari (one with horns unlike Sten who must have forgotten his in Par Vollen)
5. Another awesome Dwarf, Varric and Oghren were great and have set the bar high (for dwarves that is)
6. A good girl romance think about it. Morrigan was a ***** who then leaves you. Leliana had an annoying lisp, and was just a bit boring. Isabella gave you aids and was a huge slut. The only one I did like was Merril but I felt like a bit of a pedo whilst romancing her, and her Welsh accent is a massive turn off (and I am Welsh)

id love to see dragon age 3 as a start with your warden, then go to hawk at the halfway point, and have both parties unite in the 3rd act. You can add alot of new characters in the wardens half and have all the recuring characters in hawks half. heck its even easy to get them on the same path, the warden is told by morigan to go to some place(lets say teventer or orlias) and hawk is told by flemith to go to the same place. as for characters the only one i really dont think could be back is wayne and thats cause of books and i dont want to spoil anything

I, personally would like all new characters, rather than just re-using old ones.
amongst a new character party there are two things i would like to see,
1- a party that has more of an even balance between the races
2- I know this may sound weird but I think having a tranquil mage in the party might be interesting.

If most of the previous party members make cameos or are somehow still relevant to the plot (like in ME3), but a mostly new cast is added (not like ME3), I'll be satisfied. If they make more party members not humans/elves, then I'll be happy.
I personally killed Zevran and Alistair handily sacrificed himself in mine so I could live. You didn't play through DA:O thinking you had to keep everyone and play nice, did you?Indecipherable said:

I actually got to landsmeet or whatever and stopped playing because I simply didn't care enough about the generic world. Oh well.
I'd like all new characters, but in the style of those from DA:O. All of the previous characters seem to have had their stories resolved to a certain extent and I'd like a storyline in an area away from the previous two games. I would also like more options in character creation, like DA:O rather than DA2. In fact, I'd like basically DA:O but with a new story and characters.
