I played DA:O on the PC and enjoyed it, I'm going to get DA2 for PC and will hopefully enjoy it.

However, if you're a Bioware whore, chances are you like the game for the dialogue and story. Getting the game for your PS3 means that your game dialogue and story will be tweaked to match your previous game, which should make for a far more engaging experience than getting it for PC and being given some default background story and choices, all to try out a different feel for the game.

But then I'm a whore for the whole "Import previous game save" thing, personalisation and customisation in a storyline are my turn-ons; I don't really care much about different controls as I generally pick them up quick enough to not be a problem, and I barely mod any games I get.

It depends where your priorities lie, of course. Some people believe that the controls, mechanics and modding are more important, which is perfectly valid, but what do you believe?

I reckon get it for PC, and keep your eyes open for pre-owned copy of DA:O and play it for old times sake and compare, see if they really did make good improvements

There were lots of mods for Dragon Age: Origins on PC but none that were particularly "worth it". Personally, I preferred the interface on the PC and cannot imagine how someone could have put up with it on console.

Dragon Age was unquestionably better on the PC. In fact, I believe that the console versions were considered rather mediocre ports in comparison. Texture sizes were lowered, there was no tactical view, you couldn't tell multiple party members what to do while paused, the puzzles were made easier, the number of enemies was dropped, and you couldn't use mods.

As I understand it, the main things that will be carried over from your Origins save are the big, world-changing choices, such as who is ruling Ferelden and what happened to the Warden. It's nice, but I don't think it changes the game to the same extent as in Mass Effect. Hawke's story sounds quite contained.

Also, if you don't import, you have the choice of three default options, which are:

1) Hero of Ferelden - Grey Warden killed the Archdemon and survived, Alistair rules Ferelden.
2) The Martyr - Female Dalish Warden sacrificed herself to kill the Archdemon, Alistair and Anora rule Ferelden.
3) (I can't remember the name) - Noble Dwarf Warden sends Loghain to kill Archdemon, becomes Grey Warden commander, leaves Anora as Queen.

I'd say PS3 just for carrying over choices, that's normally a major part of Bioware's game even though its a different story I think the whole country in Dragon Age II has been affected by the choices from the first one like, who is King or Queen.

You don't play as the same character, really. So I don't believe that it matters too much what you carry over. Get the PC version.

I have my old save data on 360, but I will be getting the game for PS3 this time.
