Dragon Age Ending/DLC

just finished dragon age and was disappointed but not surprised to find out that the game "ended" after the end and didn't let you continue on doing quests.

Now, I was satisfied with my playthrough...I did an overwhelming majority of the side-quests and did both of the available DLCs but my real problem is...with the "Return to Ostagar" DLC coming out in a few days, do they really expect me to just reload a long-ago pre "final battle" save to do it? that just seems stupid to me...hopefully they "unlock" the ending through an update or DLC like Fallout 3 did...when will RPG developers realize that people STILL WANT TO PLAY but they also want to beat the game...*sigh*

any ideas how the new ostagar dlc will work? maybe it will be in the "other campaigns" section but i doubt it...who knows.

I doubt that they'll change the ending (and I really hope they won't), considering that the ending can unfold in such a way that would make it horribly awkward to continue questing.

Since you can die and all that...

I think that it'll work much like the other DLC's, in that you either meet a new person to talk to or you simply get to go to back to Ostagar.
I don't have any hard facts, but that's my guess, nevertheless.

It lets you load up your endgame save to play DLC, just puts you back in camp.

You can still play dlc after the story has ended.

That little annoying kid that enchanted your weapons. His first line is "Enchantment?" then if you said yes, he would say "Enchantment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" ...really irritating.

There's this mentally challenged dwarven kid which does high grade enchantment.
It's also the only thing he says.

so you can load up your endgame save and it will put you in camp? can you only play dlcs or can you go other places as well? also my "endgame" save is like at the after-celebration, won't it just continue from there if i load it?

also, you COULD die in the end of fallout 3 but they made that story go on, albeit a bit messily. they could do the same thing in DAO...

No they don't actually. If you load the auto-save the game makes for every character at the end of the game, it'll take you to somewhere out in the wilderness where you can go back to camp with pretty much all of your companions there (except Morrigan or any others that have left or had to kill). When you load this save, a pop-up will appear explaining that you can't go back do the regular quests, but you can use this save to get quick access to the DLC (which you can play during the regular campaign anyway).

Not true. He says "Hello", "Goodbye" and one other thing which I think is "We left Orzammar!"

He only says those once each though iirc.

When you complete the campaign, you should get an epilogue save which is just before you finalise the troop plans in Redcliffe.
