Alright, after just now finishing DAII, I can see where a lot of the hate comes from. But instead of making a big long list, I think one thing that many people have glossed over should be pointed out more frequently;

Even playing on Hard, DAII, a $60 full game, takes barely a few more hours more (2/3) to complete than DA: Awakenings, a $15-$25 (depending on when/where you got it), an expansion for DA:O.

Why in the hell does a full sequel game take almost the same amount of time to complete as a simple expansion to it's predecessor?

Dead Space 2 took me 8 hours to complete on a difficulty above normal... It cost me 60 bucks and it still was one of the best games I've played the last couple of years.

It's not about length it's about gir... I mean quality.

The combat is much faster than in origins and the you don't walk as much as you did in say the deep roads which took hours. I'm looking forward to the sequel though *crosses fingers for return of the warden*

I don't know what you're talking about. It took me over 40 hours to complete it. I'm guessing you just skipped all of the side quests and companion quests.

Its not the only problem the game has; but something like this just complicates it further.

I could go on for some time about the terrible characters, terrible storytelling, the fact that you literally only go 5 different areas the entire time, the bad character customization, the linearity that makes FFXIII look like an open-world MMO, etc., but this really breaks the whole package with it.

You rush through it, bro? Awakenings took me 12 hours to beat. DA2 took me 25. Not as long as Origins, but still a decent length.

I did ever single quest except Merril's, because she is a twitchy, blood mage fool who probably sat in her house for 8 years going "He's going to come back, he's going to come back, he's going to come back, he's going to come back".

Oh, and the Bone Pit one. Sounded terribly drab and boring, and it wouldn't have added another 20 hours or so to the story.

According to Steam, Awakening costs $30. Which is $10 less than it was at launch. I'd pick it up, but eh.

But anyway, I'm 20 hours in and I just started the second act, or chapter, or whatever its called. Right after the Deep Roads is where I'm at. So not sure how people are beating it so fast...

But the repetitive environments are annoying as hell. Hopefully the modding community can diversify it all a bit. Oh yeah, there's no mod tools for this game. Damn.

47 hours in, still not done. I'm one of those guys who reads the codex entries, explores the town, does most of the side quests, talks to people on the street, etc. I paid good money for the game, I try to make the most of it.

If you only care about the destination, you miss the journey.

I got about 30 hours of it done on my first playthrough on Normal. and I thought it was worth my money. There's alot less filler here than Origins did, like the whole series of Orzammar quests. I don't mind the length personally.

Really? I still haven't even gone into the Deep Roads and my clock is in the double digits already. I keep getting quests before I can move the main story along because I keep running out to do those. It's actually start to feel a little too long. But then, I suppose if you don't go do everything, then the game could end up being short.
