You are right to an extent. But one thing that developers at EA seem to do right are the system specs. The last time specs were useful to me was in the 90s, when if you didn't have enough ram the game wouldn't run.
The most inaccurate specs that I've ever seen are specs for Shadow of Mordor. I can play that game on the highest settings (other than the ultra texture pack that I didn't even bother to download) with a 2Gb card and the game rarely drops below 60fps.
