He will make the armor for free, but if you pay him to do it perfect you will get better quality. So far I've gotten 3 sets from him

Bring him 3 Drake Scales for a decent set of light armor. If you bring him another 3 he will make a 'Superior' set and then you can bring him a Dragon Scale to craft a set of medium, heavy or massive armor set of your choice.

I picked the medium set for my rogue. Besides a high amount of fire resist, it has lots of +stamina and stamina regen on it, and when worn as the complete set has almost no fatigue penalty.
Ohh that's a great idea!
My rogue is wearing the 'free' version right now. I should totally get more scales!

Anyone know if the game runs right into 'endgame' after you gather all the armies?
I've only got to get Orzimar on my side, and then I've got them all! I'm afraid to do it, since there are other quests I could be having fun with, and I don't want to end the game yet (Or start the final ball so that other quests cannot be done).

Dragon Age is pure unadultarated awesomeness wrapped in delicious win, served on a bed of superb and lightly seasoned with frickin sweet :p

@Furburt: If you liked NWN 1 you will love DAO I think. To be honest though it reminds me more of NWN 2 than any other game. In fact NWN 2 with a little bit of Mass Effect mixed in would seem about right to me though that's a collossal oversimplification that does the game little justice. I will warn though that the game is a lot less forgiving than either NWN or Mass Effect, it WILL kill you, your party (and yes your little dog too ;)) if you give it half a chance (personally I think this is a good thing as it makes the game nice and challenging whilst managing for the most part to avoid being frustrating.

@Fett: As has already been answered x<y means 'y greater than x'. Just think of it as the wide end of the symbol is the larger part. As others have suggested I've found 25% is about the best spot to set tactics for heals though frankly I find it's still generally best to keep a close eye on things yourself and whack the pause key and do a bit of manual heal queuing alot of the time!

@Squid and Others: From what I've seen, the PC version IS the better of the 3 options (assuming the PS3 version is going to be much the same as the 360 one as I've not seen it yet) but from what I've seen the 360 version isn't really THAT different so I wouldnt worry about it too much, the graphics arent QUITE as sharp but then again you can play it on a nice big TV sitting on your sofa or whatever so it's a bit swings and roundaboutsey :p In time the PC version may win out decicevely if lots of really good user made content starts appearing but for now any system you choose, the game still rocks!

You can romance Zevran with a male Dwarf and get this scene - http://www.homodwarf.pt.vu/

USE TACTICS. Automate potion usage, healing spells, modes and commonly used spells/talents. It will help a LOT.

Mages are overpowered. Force Cage and Crushing prison are the main offenders, but so is the Glyph line, Paralyze Line, Hex line and Cone of Cold. Also, every mage should have the Heal spell, perhaps even Regenerate. Dropping a spec point into Spirit Healer for Group Heal is also a good idea.

You don't need Lockpicking. All locked chests in the game contain crappy loot. If you want to make money, level Stealing. It's pretty great. To disarm traps, you need a Rogue with Trapmaking, but most traps can be avoided or healed through.

Daggers are currently bugged and are not getting the damage bonus from dexterity that they should be getting. Bows are just crap, except for one talent (Arrow of Slaying). They are getting fixed in a future patch. DPS-oriented rogues should get some points in Strenght and use Swords. Or at the very least get Lethality and a high Cunning score.

Dog is crap. Until he gets Overwhelm. Then he's great.

Morrigan disapproves. A lot. Get used to it. She is, however, easily distracted by shiny jewelry that you can get cheap from most merchants in the game.

I only have the Orzimar left as well.

Arl Eamon instructed you to return to him once you have finished gathering your forces, so I am assuming that's the trigger.

Yeah, I guess so.
But it seems odd. They said the game was, like, 60 to 80 hours, right?
But I'm only about 30 or so into it! And I have subtitles turned off, which means I'm listening to everything! So either there is a ton left to do, or I've skipped massive amounts of content. Probably the latter.

Hey, you can tell us! In spoilers, of course!
After you gather the armies and head to Denerim, is there still world travelling to do? Can you do more? Or is it just 'Wham! Baam! Fight the final guy and end the conflict' kind of endgame?

There is no travelling and gameplay after defeating the archdemon unfortunatly.
There you go.

Well let me ask you something else, that's a bit more vague:
How much game is left after you gather all the armies?
Another 10 hours? 15 hours? 5?

wow I didn't expect this much success from this thread then again... Still just a piece of advice if you using a group with Zev feel free to abandon the tanks for a moment and swiftly mve Zev so he's behind the enemy you can never underestimate the bonus' for the rogues back stab against an ogre or Reverent. I'm speaking from a Warriors perspective.

I disagree about the locked box loot, It's the only place i've found a decent armor crystal for Shale so far.

How does stealing work, exactly? If I fail do NPC's go hostile?

I've had Shale's crystals drop from regular mobs, but they're extremely random. Since I never got Shale (DLC bugged, won't work), I can safely say I wouldn't have missed much if I didn't open a single box in the game.

As for stealing, no, nobody goes hostile. You either get the loot or you fail and can try again later. I've read that some people were getting random encounters with hostile guards while traveling through Denerim, but nothing plot related, beyond the occasional unpleasant comment if someone sees you fail. Also, I've heard about people getting as much as 2 gold from a single steal.

You can't block doors. It bothered me that this game is so heavy on tactics but you can't bottleneck a door with your tank.

And does anybody know- are tactics bugged on the PC version? Whenever I try to use it for shapeshifting, the abilities don't work. Like if I set up Slam for nearest visible, or web on enemy attacking main character, then Morrigan just sits there and autoattacks.

Tactics work fine, you probably neglected something, some tactics are conflicting, or your character simply doesn't have the mana/stamina to perform the move. There are some instances when tactics might bug out, but overall they work quite well.

As for blocking doors, might I suggest Glyph of Repulsion?
