This sounds like an overheating GPU problem. Try cleaning out your PC of all dust and dirt; if that doesn't work try overclocking the fan in RivaTuner.
Since I hate fucking around with programs and my pc components, I just disabled Physx and it worked like a charm.

He's right, the problem you described sounds exactly like an overheating GPU problem. If you don't clean up some the problem can gradually escalate till even basic programs are capable of overheating your computer and eventually something gets cooked. Not good!

Just crack open your case and give it a good dusting. Cans of compressed air are cheap and easily found at any office supply store, use one of them to get the dust out of the computer fans and from between delicate components.

And even if it isn't the source of the problem it's still good to give your computer a good cleaning every once and awhile anyway, no harm done.

I've only experienced the minimizing to desktop issue, that was resolved by getting rid of AVG 9, other than that, it runs perfectly on my system, and I have physics disabled since nothing really utilizes the feature.

Yeah it sounds like something is screwed up with your system, and yeah 20 minutes into a session sounds like a heat problem, damn good clean with compressed air in the GPU heatsink and fan, CPU fan could probably do with a clean as well, if that doesn't do it, then try re-seating memory and GPU, after that, I'd start looking at the operating system, maybe a graphics driver problem, or the OS is screwed up somehow.

You cannot expect a game review to mention a game will crash on YOUR system, when it runs fine on the reviewer rig. Seriously... *rolleyes*
